I have one of these sitting in my driveway that still has the factory 318

My Great Uncle bought it new, and it was my dads daily driver when he passed away. I just fire it up a few times per year to drive it to the car wash and keep the fluids circulated.

lairmo,

Well you have to admit the finished product is stunning whether or not it's profitable.

Thanks but it's mostly my buddy's project. I was just the helper. That stonecoat epoxy is HIGH!!! I wish I had the pics of it in the dark with an LED rope light under it..now that looks pretty cool!...lol

Finished product. We'll never build one again he says...lol There's more money in it than we'll get out of it.

Turned out really nice. Congratulations.

This was my first car. (Not this exact one..image from interweb) The motor was blown so we put a 455 olds in it. Just had T-tops put in it. Got my license and drove it to school for the first time. My mom told me not to drive to school the "back way' (s-curves)..I didn't. I drove home the back way chasing some girls with my buddy standing up out of the T-tops...lost control on the curve, over corrected and straight into a massive oak tree. Last thing I saw was my side view mirror flying into the field. I woke up on the other side of the road with my teeth pushed through my lower lip from biting the steering wheel and a massive forehead/windshield concussion. My buddy had pulled me across the road and I asked why. He pointed to my car, which was now engulfed in flames as well as the tree and surrounding trees and field. I didn't get another car for over a year and a half and was forced to ride the bus up until the end of my senior year as punishment. Never bought another car for myself since then, always been a jacked up truck or jeep guy. And I did roll a '68 scout, but that was a little more fun...lol

Last night...lol

When I was a kid my first two cars were both 1979 Olds 98Regency two door with the 406ci , iirc? and the best automatic transmission ever made up until that time- the turbo 250. Speedo only went up to 120mph. Pegged it only twice. When it's going 130-140 mph it feels like you are floating on air. Man I think those cars only got like 8 miles per a gallon of gas, but it got me where I was going fast and the seats were like sitting in a Lazy Boy recliner!

One of my high school friends and his brother had a pair of 442 and also a Hurst Olds with the speed shift automatic. That Hurst was bad azz!

Sweet Dart Icewing!

Had a 73 Dodge half ton with one.
And a 76 Coronet.
The difference between the two was great (but bad) as far as emissions and changes.
Couldn't hardly get your hand under the hood of the Coronet... Tried to trade it to a used car dealer/shyster for an old International Scout with a Granny gear in it but the yahoo wanted cash to boot....Swapped a co-worker for the Dodge truck instead.

Well folks , no buying more generator gas just in case for me today. (Power went out and came back on after I got home , so it's upping the odds.)
Went out on the wheelchair ramp with crutches. Crashed and slid partway down it.No going to attempt getting to the tarp shed to grab a gas can after that.
Crawled back in the house and skied down the ramp in the chair. Scraped ice for a while and it was road trip time. Though a short one.

I have one gas can full. And can siphon fuel out of both tractors too. That will last a couple days at least.
We lose power long enough a neighbor will make a gas run eventually. (They go for food usually , not much for cookin over there. Less so when the power is out).

Post card pretty sightseeing out there while sawing on the steering wheel around downed limbs and low hanging branches. Except for those downed limbs , busted trees.

Now to figure out traction for the dogs on the back deck and steps. Salt burns their feet and the "pet safe" ice melt I tasted won't do.
Do have gravel heavy sand though. They'll track it into the shack , but that's better than them crashing.
One fell down the stairs during an earlier icing...Scored it poorly due to awkwardness.
The old ones and feeble ones don't maneuver too good. I'm in good company.
But , we're setting fine.

Man do kids have it made today.415ddc03b4d5e65842928636f6fb684c.webp 2f0fe50cc9be4f845ef270dd90409636.webp:laughing7:

.89d3a946232a83b3cbad2ba71780628a.gif WOW, those could ruin your day.:laughing7:

And no spanner but, either

Nice one, for industrial use mostly. We need the bonus likes. That would be 5 likes.:laughing7: But you just get one.

My first car was a bone stock 1964 Chevelle SS with a 283 SB and a powerglide transmission :( It was like this one with the same hubcaps and white interior, but mine had a white top and I can't find a picture of one with that red and white color combination. I sold it a good friend, before I headed to Colorado. Last I talked to him maybe 35 years ago he still had it and had no plans to ever let it go. Now there's no telling where it went, as he was put under this tombstone a little over 10 years ago. I'd say my buddy Jeff, was one of Chevrolet's biggest fans. He had a small block Vega that would really get up and go and it was a real thrill to head to downtown Des Moines, Iowa so many moons ago now and do a thing we called scoop the loop.

Those 2 speed powerglides are awesome...shift out of first at 70-90mph...lol

My uncle has one like you pictured(white) and a beautiful "64 Chevy 2 (Maroon)....

Those are cool. My first 'motor' was a 1971 Honda SL70...black with flames on tank...just like my first bicycle...I was so cool...lol!
There's a bunch of riders that are very similar to that one there, here in Boulder County Colorado. They fly by me when I'm out going for a ride and I can't catch em.
