Yup, spend them.....

The deer with button antlers went for $49.00 plus shipping on Etsy. I would say she made out pretty well.:skullflag:

Most of the pennies I find are so coated in limestone they are impossible to use. I found one penny that was well over 1/4th inch thick.
Gotta tumble those bad boys!

Yeah, if I was making something like that, I would first tumble the coins until they were nice and clean. Then weed out the zinc cents, as they are just plain junk IMO. Once built, I would then spray them with a clear finish to keep them from tarnishing in the future.

Old Crow has a funny yarn.

Many years ago my cute little niece was about 3 or 4 years old. She was a lot smarter than her dumb old uncle. Ask can I have odd one cent pieces from your business? and as a joke i collected through my business on odd one cents with any cash payments paid to one of my business. I save it up each year and put into a bank account. It was an ongoing joke in family.

When she Turned 18 she bought a brand new sports car with it.

I guess there is moral to the story here? Count your pennies the dollars look after themselves.

Terry, what’s amazing, after all these years I think we understood the penny, production, errors I thought. Who determines oh by the way this year has an error or date stamped wrong. Thankyou I mean is there an up to date on pennies. I think in the coming decade all Pennie’s will be rare when they don’t make anymore. How much does it cost to make a penny , 3 cents. Doesn’t sound cost effective, thanks

I posted these photo's of an entire Kitchen decorated with Pennies a few years ago.
Must have taken a lot of time and patience but it sure looks great !

The US never minted pennies, to my knowledge. Pennies (pence) were British with 240 of them to the pound. When the US adopted the decimal coinage system early in its history, it minted cents (one one hundredth of a dollar). The coins pictured above are cents. They are much smaller than a penny, about the same as a British farthing. I'm not sure when or how the US cents began to be popularly called pennies. As a amateur historian, metal detectorist who really likes coins, I try to be accurate when describing cents, pennies and halfpennies.

I agree, but, most people call them pennies and we all know what they're talking about. Not a big deal in my mind. There are nicknames for all sorts of coins and currency, not just cents.

Calling them pennies is too ingrained in our culture to call them cents. No point fighting it.

I use a bolt cutter to chop up zinclons to distribute in the orchards to protect against scab. Cheaper than trying to buy ag Zn. Cu is also a desirable trace. Go ahead feds, try to come after me. :D
GPS coordinates of those orchards please, so, I can avoid detecting that area! :laughing7:
