Most of the pennies I find are so coated in limestone they are impossible to use. I found one penny that was well over 1/4th inch thick.

Yeah, if I was making something like that, I would first tumble the coins until they were nice and clean. Then weed out the zinc cents, as they are just plain junk IMO. Once built, I would then spray them with a clear finish to keep them from tarnishing in the future.

Old Crow has a funny yarn.

Many years ago my cute little niece was about 3 or 4 years old. She was a lot smarter than her dumb old uncle. Ask can I have odd one cent pieces from your business? and as a joke i collected through my business on odd one cents with any cash payments paid to one of my business. I save it up each year and put into a bank account. It was an ongoing joke in family.

When she Turned 18 she bought a brand new sports car with it.

I guess there is moral to the story here? Count your pennies the dollars look after themselves.
