The bug has gotten me bad... again.... BUT this time we did something about it and got an Ace 250! As soon as we got home with the very lightly used unit we started in our yard! Found a couple of clad coins and a few neat items. Took a small break then went to a river bank which gets fished a lot and is covered in "flood" mud which has hardened. Our first find there was found by my wife, a quarter sitting on the surface! Found 76 cents in clad there, a couple of melted cans/sinkers, and a whole sinker!

FUN times! My wife and I truely enjoy it and our kids love to "treasure" hunt!

Most of this stuff was found on a low riverbank in plain view. My wife found the truck after I had walked right past it. There is an old leather horse shoe sole pad- either for a small pony, or has shrunken over the years. Some old shaving cream tube "Burma.Shave"- No brush, No lather- Made in Minneapolis, MN, a nice old bottle, an iron, what looks like milk glass, a little cup handle and I'm not sure what the other thing is, but it's softer metal, and has 2 bolts or fasteners on each side. This weekend somebody found a hand grenade in the same area I was searching. Fun day!

Great finds! Congrats on your new machine and hobby. My husband and I go out as a team, as well. We both have machines although I sometimes just go along with him to hand him the Lesche, pinpointer, etc. MD is a great family hobby. Enjoy your hunting and get out there often!

I want to thank everyone for the kind words and support! We will post on this thread for about a month since it will truely be our first finds!

I got permission to detect it! It was a two story school with a cement out house in the back. One side was for boys and one for girls. We found an old hitching ring there and that is about it for now.

Today we are 4 hours away from home and visiting family. Went out to a local beach and found a pop tab, 4 cents, sinker, leader, and half of a laptop! Also four or five cans. It was fun and I'll try to get pictures up. OH! I also found our first key!

Found the clad qtr first! So it got me excited to keep going. I only had about a half hour of daylight left so I put the Ace 250 on Coin only. Then I found the strange piece of metal with a hole in it. Then came the April Wine pin. April wine is a band from the 70's and my qtr was from 74 so maybe i'll be finding "relics" from that era. Then it was getting dark and I got a hit at 8+ inches so I started digging, found the nail, but knew that wasn't what the detector sounded on so i kept going and found the .22 brass. Been awhile since I have been out detecting so this was fun!
