One hit wonders

Often I have seen these lets call them "One Hit Wonders" you all know the type. The ones that take the time to sign up, figure out how to post, put up a picture, ask a question then disappear. WHY?

Seen it in many different areas of TN forums as well as other forums regarding many subjects. Is it boredom, short term memory loss, or the person just has enough time in their lives to do a post then get busy again and forgets all about it?

Could it be that the answers are not what they want to hear/read, seen where they seem to argue the suggestions that the membership have provided then disappear.

I'm sure some post, read the replies without signing in, and go about life again dismissing the crickets chirping of their post questions asking for more details.

Don't get me wrong some are different, but on a whole most are interesting queries to items or things regarding treasure hunting as a whole.

A simple thank you, or bugger you before parting would be good.

in some cases it is Obvious to me, the first person to see their Post
is either Rude or trying to be funny when they Respond.

I Occasionally Get Complaints from new Members who tell me they thought we were Professional
Till they Signed Up :(

This is one of the reasons when someone jokes about a New Members Question on Treasure Signs,
I'm almost ready to Ban the Joker or rude person who tries to Discourage someone from the start :BangHead:

in other cases perhaps they never Kept the site Name or Address.

I know when I first started surfing the Net, Because I used Other peoples Computers & Library Computers
allot of what I found was on the fly. I made posts & moved on.
Never to remember where.
this probably happens more these days with countries,
where internet cafes and schools are where the computers exist.

Don't know if its relevant, but there's a LOT of unstable people walking around in this country and they are allowed access to the inturweb. Just read some of the hot topics before they get moderated or moved to the political section.

One hit wonders are everywhere and they don't bother me in the least. After all it's their loss if they choose not to participate. I'm not a social media kind of guy, but I feel very comfortable in this format. If I want to comment I do and if not I don't. Hopefully my comments are helpful or at least entertaining. I've met some great people here and have learned so much. That won't happen unless you participate.

I know if I join a forum and after my first post, responses smack of elitism or smarmy answers then I don't return.
That has never been the case here at TNet.
I find most folks willing to be helpful and that's why I stay.
Well that and Jeff Gordon's incredible sense of humor!

In the summer i was helping a friend with a JD 450 dozer, i joined of a forum for John Deere to get a parts lay out for the final drives...one time never went back, fixed.

3. being the interweb who knows who is really male or female???

7b. being myself, an older male, I know I can be brusk and insensitive. I'm sorry for that, I intend no hurt usually. I'm a man, I can do better.. if I have to... I guess

111. I am here for fun and do try to add some fun besides the detecting stuff

It can be "confusing" but fun, none the less. :glasses12:

BTW you ladies on tnet,
I know feelings are difficult to control, however, you need not feel embarrassed or intimidated by anyone anytime
you are as good as anyone here or anyplace else
we are all only humans

Stretch da Truth , That kajagoogoo reference was excellent ! Not trying to hijack the thread but i would suggest "Jenny " (8675309) by Tommy Tutone as a classic one off .
