Greetings from the flatland of Central Kansas. Retired a few years back and always wanted to try metal detecting. About a year ago we acquired a Minelab 800 and going to be picking up a ctx3030 in the next few days. Been digging the usual spots, parks, lakes, old farms, etc. No spectacular finds yet but we will not be discouraged. My usual partner is my wife of 57 years and she enjoys it as much as I do.

Welcome Aboard! Take a look at FORUM: KANSAS for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Welcome to a great and rewarding hobby! Here's a link to the 1887 Kansas State Atlas from Historic Map Works. Look at the roads back then and compare them to today and try to find an old homestead or RR station etc...

Welcome to T Net and the best hobby! Remember to dig those nasty aluminum pulltabs because they will read like a gold ring.

Welcome to the group LarryK. I am also from Kansas, N.E. Kansas. We will be looking forward to seeing all of your great finds this year. There are very little active metal detecting clubs in Kansas, but the Topeka Treasure Hunters Club meets monthly in Topeka and today is our next club meeting. Feel free to look them up online or on Facebook. Stay tuned because we will be having our 50th Annual Topeka Treasure Hunter Club national hunt this Spring in Hoyt, Kansas. We will be posting lots of details soon so stay tuned! Happy Hunting!
