Had a day out at the lake today didn't expect anything as I'm late to detecting it for the season and I could see someone dug holes everywhere but I just needed to get out. Dug a whole lot of pull tabs and beer caps but towards the end got surprised with my first gold ring of the year so not so bad at all. I'll take 14k gold any day.

Not sure what you mean, I am able to blow pictures up.
When I click on an attachment pic I can no longer zoom in with my touchpad like I used to, but when I close the image it was the post that has been zoomed in.
Is it just me?

Thank you I've had a gold drought been a long time since I've dug gold. I worked for this one though found so much freaking trash was driving me nuts

Was about 5 and a half hours of digging. Place has been hit hard. They partially drain this swim lake every year and as soon as they do the deterorists hit it hard. I am very late to getting out there so all easy targets are gone. I just go low and slow with sensitivity up and reactivity low since it's been cleaned of being too cluttered

The other day we watched the old coyote walking around on the ice.
He lopped along with his stiff hip. Shows his age now.
Been on the property that I know of for 6+ yrs at least.
Here he was 3 years ago, quite the attitude.

I throw all the mice, chickens that have past on, onto this bench on a hillside. He gets a bonus dinner every once in a while.
Maybe I will crack the garden gate a bit so he can go Vole hunting.

I've had a bit of a gold drought myself.

Warning ⚠️ ⚠️ ⚠️
Don't mess with a "Ruthenium" member.
(Has to be said in a deep voice)

Ruthenium is a rare, silvery-white, transition metal with the symbol Ru and atomic number 44. It's part of the platinum group of metals, which also includes platinum, palladium, rhodium, osmium, and iridium.

Properties:

  • Appearance: A shiny, solid, metallic element that's opaque and doesn't tarnish at room temperature
  • Hardness: 6.5 on the Mohs scale
    • Density: 12.438 g/cm3
    • Reactivity: Unreactive to most chemicals
Uses:

    • Electrical contacts: Alloyed with platinum to make electrical contacts
    • Catalyst: Used as a catalyst in many oxidation reactions
    • Hardener: Used as a hardener for platinum and palladium
    • Eye melanoma treatment: Ruthenium-106 is used to treat eye melanomas
Discovery:

    • Discovered in 1844 by Karl Ernst Claus
    • Named after the Latin name for Russia
Origin:
    • Found in the Earth's crust in trace amounts, estimated at 0.001 parts per million
  • Found in copper-nickel sulfide ores and as a byproduct of nickel mining
  • Mined in North and South America and some parts of South Africa
