I am a believer! silver cache! final count,dates,new pics and a word on slander!
First of all I would like to thank all of you for your wonderful replies to my post. I have read every single one of them(yes even the ones removed) and want to thank you for your sincere congratulatory responses! That being said, I would like to say a few words to the skeptics who slandered me on this site. I am relatively new to this hobby. I purchased my beloved Tesoro Cibola in the winter of 2007 after a lot of research and some freindly advice form an oldtimer in the forum on this very site who told me I did not have to spend $1200 to get a good detector to start MDing. He said a good set of headphones and sometime using the machine would let me know what my machine is telling me . This was great news to me since I am bluecollar and even the Cibola was a big purchasee for me. i was so eager to start in the spring of 2008 I was busting through frost in early March (and this is in Maine). Before this I did not even own a single silver coin. I busted my butt all summer and managed to pull 35 silvers out of the ground, 40 if you count the war nickels, 30 something Indians, 2 silver rings, 2 silver bracelets, ( what capt'n SE finds in a good week LOL ) quite a few interesting artifacts and enough clad to buy batteries. I loved every minute of it . It did not take long b/f I wanted to post my finds and decided to support this site and become a charter member.I was going on treasurenets almost every night to enjoy other members finds and to learn some of their trade secrets. I learned a lot on here and recommend this site to everyone who shows interest in this hobby.
This spring was no different. I had done a lot of research this winter to find new, good, legal, potential hunting sites. I knocked on a few doors this spring with good results. I felt I was off to a Banner year and felt a new affinity with my Cibola as I already had 2 seated coins and 6 1800s Indians out of this field I was hunting. The seated were firsts for me and I was very excited with my site and going there everyday after work. So is it a surprise when I found a area of the field that started producing forks, spoons, buttons, thimbles, ect that I used my brain and what I had learned about this site (after HOURS of research) to concentrate my attention on this area? Is it a surprise to me that I found the CACHE
?? NOOOO! What the surprise is is that no one else had found it before me!
As far as my timetable that day its pretty accurate within 15-20 minutes. I was pretty excited and was not thinking about time. I did enjoy myself pulling coings from the pot and went slow and did look at a lot of coins on the ground. I did have a good idea of the age of the coins before I got home. As for the 2008 newspaper goes I burn wood and coal and after along hard winter I had a hard time to even find a newspaper in this house. Please don't judge people on this site. It will only discourage people from
