Hi everyone,

Been awhile since I have posted anything. Haven't been hunting as much with the new baby and work. But the times here and there I got out they were quality trips.

I didn't show any relics. If you can imagine 4 full to the top folgers or maxwell house cans full of everything. To many pics and work to get it up.

I pulled just the interesting stuff. There was more but like I said this is just the best as of lately. This is the time of yr were I sit back and just hunt periodically.

To hot and the bugs and ticks are rough. I don't hunt anything other than woods. And they are grown in full. Today I had a nice day. 4 old silver coins in less than 2 hrs. And one was a nice 1897 barber half.

I'll give you a break down on the finds.

4 Indian Heads- 1906 1906 1905 1888
4 V Nickles- 1898 1909 1889 1906
1 Buffalo- No Date

13 Wheat Cents
3 Old Jeffersons
3 Barber Dimes 1900 1909 1908 D
1 1948 Rosie
1 Nice 1888 Seated Dime First Of The Yr
1 1940 Merc
1 1943 P war Nickle

And Finally 1 1897 Barber Half.

Hope everyone is getting out and having good luck

HH Jer

Thanks guys,

I understand Buckleboy. I have had more than one person tell me I hurt the value of my coins. I don't collect for the money just for pleasure.

I like to have a collection that displays well. I can enjoy it more then. My silver here gets so bad your not left with to many choices but to clean them.

Dirty coins just drive me crazy. I bet though I could still get a nice penny for these coins on e-bay. Alot of amateur collectors on there that can't tell the difference.

I also plan on holding onto these coins for atleast another 20 or 30 yrs. Wouldn't they tone back up some after all those yrs. Not every coin I clean.

I have left some really valuable one's alone. Dirt on them and all. Collectors hate cleaned coins. I know olive oil is for coppers. But it makes the silver look a little better.

Oh well what can you do. I can find more and it's the thrill of digging a coin like that more than the value for me. I may never get rid of my collection.

I understand completely. Just wanted to make sure you knew. I wish someone had given me the same info when I started huntin. Didn't have internet back then, but Tnet would've been mighty handy! Once again, some great finds there!!

Regards,

Buckleboy

Sweet finds, as for how you clean your finds......................... I talked to a coin dealer last week about cleaning a coin up for display. In short, he asked me if I would be pissed if I turned a $5.00 coin into a $.40 coin? Hell no, I'm not seeling it anyways. I am proud of the fact that I found it, not everyone has one, and my coins are a great conversation piece.
Why is the torch tip in every picture but you left out the details? ;) Is it a smith tip?? I would guess not since it looks to big and the wrong base. Based on metal weight alone, that's worth more in copper than a handfull of "real" pennies. Nice fins Jer.
