Seems old by the look of the patina on it. Found it in an area that dates back to 1638. Any ideas?

I'm satisfied as well. Green check!

As mentioned above, they aren't found in pairs cause they don't come in pairs. The "What is it?" is the round pin end from a roller shade.

Even the old wood ones I have seen were made like this.
