ANY museum in CA will give you information on it. If you're serious about what you have then take it to one. Nobody here is qualified enough to say.

Can you take some better pics please. I can make heads or tails of your tiny pics and it appears the object has been cut off in each frame. Also something for size reference.

What kind of camera are you using? Why are you resizing so much?

I found your other post but I dont understand why you are accusing anyone of being skeptics on your very first post at TN? :icon_scratch: Have you posted under another name?

here is pic for all skeptics. You can remove your foot from your mouths now . the cyn coastal cyn this was found is hisorically known that francis drake amoung others explored. I am just trying to find out how to get this authinticated. I dont have the right type of camera to get a clear pic. If you notice the pewterball on top when rotated shows numerous faces on it.Seems like there are many people that think I am not telling the truth on this web sight. I apoligize for the rude comment. you should look at my responses. I would really appreciate some help of where in Ca I could take it to verify or mabe someone who would know about this . could be an expert on armor made in Toledo Spain. Please be patiant with me. This item is very hard to make out without seeing it. From what I have found out is that its more likely a letter or boot dagger. This statement is forthe people that keep writing the rude comments. What if you had found this would you like it ifyou were trying to get info but all you got was ridicule. What ever happened to the golden rule

yes he did, im not sure if he made a new account or the post was deleted. he wrote a post about finding a knife/sword with hernan cortes' name and the date 1543 on it. since he didnt post any pictures, everybody chewed him out and made fun of him. i dont know if he is making it up or not, but i think it was wrong what they did

I would suggest you go through an organization such as http://www.isa-appraisers.org/. Very few museums will be of any help now days but it never hurts to try.

You could also go on the internet to some of the free apraisal sites but I wouldn't put too much faith in anything you get for free.

However, after saying all of the negatives, you can attend a free appraisal at Bonhams/Butterfields in San Bruno,Ca.

Follow this link: http://www.bonhams.com/usa/home/

On the right hand side of the page click on the "Appraisal Days" tab.

Chose the one that fits your schedule and Good Luck! M

ps. all the coin guys might want to check out the link too.

Look ed, it is against TN rules to call someone a liar or doubt their story. I apologize if anyone did that. All I am saying is that you need better pics if you want us to help. Its not hard to do. Just try not to crop off half the object lol and dont resize them so small. We cannot see anything in the pics you provided.

Here is a guide. http://forum.treasurenet.com/index.php/topic,259110.0.html Looking forward to the new pics. Thanks.

Maybe we need a how-to guide of picture taking. It seems the human error in pictures is getting worse and it getting frustrating trying to help.
