It looks fun. Do be care out there. Night time it's a different place. I'm excited for you. Seeing what you see is hard to show at night. Hope you have some good gear with you.

Hyundi Tuscon.jpgCame across these folks on the way out of the mountains I could not believe they got there Hyundia Tuscon 2 wheel drive car that far up the trail.Good thing there are good folks to get them pulled out so they could get back to civilization.

Yeah, your summer season is shorter in that altitude.
I'd like to hear more about that cabin if possible.
Where & who may've been prospecting.
Any old tales of mountain miners.

View attachment 1752924Spent some time up in the mountains finally found that old old mine but there was this old old cabin there.

I guess that's that all high grade gold country.
Likely would be tough wintering all that snow.
Good sized Aspens up there, tells of elevation.
Must've been summer camp work for grubstake.
Had a chance to run a detector around there yet?

So I have been looking for this place for awhile now kind of one of my side projects. Now this place is pretty well hidden on the side of the mountain lots of cover the first cabin I came across was really old. There is a second cabin also and it is newer it is down below the real old one here is the photo of itIMG_5125.JPGAnd yes this is in gold country there were a lot of placer claims filed down on the river way below this area.IMG_5160.jpgHere is couple of photo's of that old cabin it was very concealed, the mine was located 200 feet directly south of this location.IMG_5126.JPG

Cool pics, maybe they left something behind for you
to enjoy, an antique tool or maybe a hidden poke.
The mine story you picked up on there, must
be some interesting details you heard. How
many summers have you been looking?
Looks like good fun for side project...

IMG_5134.JPGIts a portal to the land down under.

I bet seeing that put a big smile on your face and ? In your mind. Have you been down yet?

I hope your not alone in that area. A man can disappear in a hurry. I've almost went down a well in my younger days. I always have a walking stick that will support my weight. That might be the only way to keep you from falling
