I found this piece yesterday on an old homestead site along with the other finds you see pictured here. I found this site by researching 19thc. maps of my area.
This triangular stamped brass relic with a pyramid in the middle obviously attached to something, but I have no idea what it represents and would like to hear your suggestions.

Thanks very much for looking,

Sweet piece Antiquarian...

I wonder... and just a shot in the dark on this... but the first thing that comes to mind is "the brotherhood".

Now wouldn't that be some shiznat.

Thanks for your post AARC.
I too had the thought this might have a 'Masonic' connection, but I defer to the experts for their opinions.

You know...
I don't spend much time these days on stuff... as far as "researching"...
But i did poke around on this piece beings it intrigues me...
AND...
I "have a feeling" about it...

So...
With this said...
I am going to "go out on a limb" with this statement...

So far out on a limb that i am hearing the creaking of the bending limb...
And say...

I THINK... Repeat... THINK...
This MAY be...

Illuminati. :)
WHICH...
Would be beyond a "stellar" find IMO.

Wow! Wouldn't that be amazing if this actually was a symbol of the Illuminati! :occasion14:
As per your requests, here are the pics of the reverse and more clear pics of the front.

Thanks again for your work on this AARC! :notworthy:

Die stamped, thought so. It became commonplace around 1900. Too thin to be a chatelain , the holes aren't worn either, I think those are nail holes . There was no movement of piece to wear the holes oblong.
