Found this on vacation in St. Martin last October. Maybee I should say she found me.

Daisy (That is the name a little girl gave the dog) was abandoned on a beach and was abused by a bunch of kids. She had cuts and scars all over her body from being stoned. For some reason she followed me everywhere. The day before I was to come home, I found out that a lady that runs an adoption program for dogs had paid to have her put to sleep. I contacted the lady and told her I would take her home and to call off the needle. She told me that she was having the dog put to sleep because it was more humane than having the kids stone her to death or drown her. She also told me that the dog was not very social and was afraid of most people.

After getting the dog all it's shots and quarantine period, arranging airfare and all the other details, Daisy is now living in central Pennsylvania. She is no longer scared of other people and doing just fine.

I did not really want another dog (already have a long hair Jack Russel) but I am happy that I brought her home.

you have a kind heart may god bless you. Ivan

Wow. Good move buddy. I love dogs, and would probably lose it if I saw kids torturing a dog to death with stones. What is wrong with these kids nowadays. I'm not all that terribly old, but I know I would never have stoned a dog when I was a kid (in the 70s and 80s), and neither would my friends. Hmmph...getting a knot in my stomach just thinking about it.

Oh, one of my 2 dogs is named Daisy! The other (doberman pinscher) is named Koda.

THANK YOU. She is the most beautiful little thing. Your story actually made my eyes well up, didn't cry though cause I'm a bloke. ;D My dogs are so special to me and I can't understand why people do these horrid, cruel things.
Again thank you for your humanity.

Thanks for sharing this great story Bob. Sweet looking pup, and obviously she knew you had a kind heart. They can tell.

No wonder the dog is afraid of people. I think if I was stoned on a regular basis, I would be a tad leary of people too. You are to be commended for your kind heart. Wishing you and your newfound friend a long happy life together.

Bob, I could see how you couldn't resist...looking into those eyes would make you want to reach out and take her home.
Well Daisy obviously chose the right person to follow. You must have a big heart.
I am sure glad you were able to save a life.
Thanks!

Bob,
A dog's only natural born job is to love. Even after all the abuse it took, Daisy still did all she new and loved, trusting to find a good soul. She found that soul in you and is a treasure that will long outlast the satisfaction of even finding a diamond ring. You did the right thing.Though it was a difficult decision, I'm glad you made it. May God continue to Bless You and Daisy for may years to come. Maybe she'll be able to go detecting with you, especially if you can train her to dig at the sound of the beep! That would be the ultimate.

As for those rotten kids, what comes around goes around. Maybe they all catch cancer at a young age and understand suffering like they dished out to Daisy (and probably others). It would be nice to see the pendulum swing back their way soon. Nothing would be too horrific for them after an act like animal abuse.

Anyway, Bob may your years of happiness with Daisy be plentiful. And your next find be the dream find you've always wanted. God Smiles on Good People .... you're Good People.

i believe dogs have a soul equal if not better then a "human"...........

It must've been a tough decision to bring her home, what with the expense and paperwork, but when they look at you like that.. How can you not?

Once I stopped at a vacant farm that was for sale, just to look around.(Before I had a MD) This orange cat came running through the tall grass right up to me. He was a mess. Inner eyelids almost covering his eyes, I knew he was sick. And sooo thin. Up till then, I never really liked orange cats. Plus I already had 2 cats & 2 dogs at home. Plus, he was a tom, probly spray all over. Plus my significant other would kill me for bringing home another stray. Neighbors said the family moved away more than a month ago, but he had just been waiting for his people to come back. Had to take him home.

His name was Mister. Best cat I ever knew. We had 8 years together before he recently died of cancer.

I'm sure Daisy will be a real gem for you. Plus you never have to have the guilt of having left her there. If you hadn't saved her, you know that would've always been in the back of your mind.

Good on ya' ;)

What a wonderful story Bob and you are one heck of a guy!

absolutely great. Over Christmas I had a similar runin at a retirement home. A large yellow lab was starving and trying to get in the home! I called the name on the tag and found out he had been missing 3 days! The owners were overjoyed to see their dog again. Good for you and the dog looks like a sweetheart!

Bob you took a very unselfish step and I believe you should be applauded for your kindness! :) :) :) :) :) :) :) 8) 8) 8)

My firend, that is a treasure far more valuable than gold or silver. Neither of those can give you unconditional love and devotion. Thanks for making the life of a small one worth living.
