Found this on vacation in St. Martin last October. Maybee I should say she found me.

Daisy (That is the name a little girl gave the dog) was abandoned on a beach and was abused by a bunch of kids. She had cuts and scars all over her body from being stoned. For some reason she followed me everywhere. The day before I was to come home, I found out that a lady that runs an adoption program for dogs had paid to have her put to sleep. I contacted the lady and told her I would take her home and to call off the needle. She told me that she was having the dog put to sleep because it was more humane than having the kids stone her to death or drown her. She also told me that the dog was not very social and was afraid of most people.

After getting the dog all it's shots and quarantine period, arranging airfare and all the other details, Daisy is now living in central Pennsylvania. She is no longer scared of other people and doing just fine.

I did not really want another dog (already have a long hair Jack Russel) but I am happy that I brought her home.

Yay, Thats great news !! I am so happy you saved the life of the cute little dog and even paid for a plane ticket !! As I said in a post about snakes... "All living things fear death so all living things admire life." I thank you for saving that life, WTG!!

yo Bob

From the land of the Bluenose.....sure looks like a great beast Nice of you to give it a home and I'm sure the enjoyment....goes both ways!

great find...The restoration came out very nice on that one...The soil in that area must be very kind!!

"All things bright and beautiful, all creatures great and small"...sounds like a real treasure hunter to me.

You are a very special person. I hope you and your new friend have a good life together.

Thank you for doing the right thing!!!!!!

Daryl

Your story brought me to tears. How very wonderful of you to take this precious creature and give her love and care. I love this TN site because of great people like yourself . Blessings your way, Marjorierose

See that: There is a lot of truth to those old license plates: "You've Got a Friend in Pennsylvania"!!!

WTG, that was a great story.

WTG fellow sucker. I started feeding a stray cat on my front porch. Within a couple weeks there were 3 cats. One of them had 3 kittens in my workshop so now there are 6. One of the kittens has a crippled up hind leg but I couldn't put it down. I just hope someone feels sorry for it and takes it off my hands. Maybe it likes to fly ;D

Karma amigo Karma ;D You will be rewarded 1,000 fodl by the love this pup will give you.

Doom on those kids >:( Karma will catch up withthem too :'(

again Thanks for saveing that little Cutie form a bunch of Nutty Kids who do not know any better

So how did that ring up on your detector ;D

Its so nice to see and hear stories like this of people getting involved where most people would not. People are more disconnected from one another today than ever before and we need more random acts of kindness like this to strengthen our human bond.

Kudos to you Bob.

This is a great story. You have a big heart and I congratulate you on your find. You will be glad that you saved Daisy from almost certain death. It is also good to see that someone from my old stomping grounds is posting on this site......Chris

OMG! Are you my twin? I live in a very small town in Minnesota. Seems like it's a 'dumping ground' for unwanted animals. The stray cat that was dumped over a year ago...she will not be owned by anyone...had her in the house in the winter...tore open my bathroom screen to get out one night...it got cold again, so I brought her back in...duhhh, she then tore open the screen above my washer to get out again...so this last winter she stayed outside...has shelter across the road....and now has 4 kittens in my closet. We let her in and out as she pleases. She WON'T BE OWNED! Gotta love her, tho! Gave away her first set of kittens...kept one.

A few years back, another stray....got him neutered...shots...broke his leg, had his cast still on...had to put him down from from feleuk. Cried for days!

One dog was stolen from 18 miles from here. Managed to find the owner after an ad in the paper. Another ran away from home, thank goodness for tags, found her family.

My neighbors call me the local humane society.....

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK...Melnatcat

Hats off to You!! What a kind, humane thing to do. That dog will be a very loyal companion.Have three cats, all strays, and they seem to actually appreciate being"rescued"- well as much as a cat can show appreciation!!! LOL ;D

Kudos to you, Bob. I think Daisy is the nicest treasure you found yet. Just look at her eyes sparkling like diamonds, she loves you Bob, and she is very fortunate that you are her best friend.
