My Diy Fluid Bed Gold Trap Sluice

What GoodGuy article, I have looked every where for this design to build myself and after 3 days my eyes are red and burning:BangHead: I live near Talladega National forest and use a A51 but the majority of gold in there is fine and very fine so I am looking for something better. But the biggest thing is TIME I do not have much so this seems like I could get the most of my time there.
Mr GoodGuy could you point me in the right direction because your FBS looks GREAT and so does Ganimead's, these units look better than any build out there. I have access to metal fabrication equipment from a guy at work so I believe this is something i could do nicely, since I have never laid eyes on the original I have no reference. Like I said the speed of these is my main focus,if any could help I sure would be very grateful.

IT'S GOOD TO SEE YOU GUYS BACK ON LINE AGAIN.
STILL HELPING THOSE OF US THAT LOVE TO TINKER.
I'M STILL WORKING OUT A FEW DETAILS ON MY HAND POWERED PUMP/DREDGE.
I'LL POST SOME PICS WHEN I GET IT RIGHT... FIRST TEST SHOWED A LITTLE PROMISE.

HH AND GOD BLESS
MIKEL

Ive got a hand dredge I built and about to build another, if I can I will post some pics

There are 15 pages on this thread. What are you looking for, blueprints? I've been through it and I believe its all right here.

Well not really blueprints but was curious about dimensions of specific parts mainly the size and openings of the collection box. I have found some good info on the pipes and holes but there has been discussion of spacing, size, and orientation of the holes. With all that said if someone did have a drawing with dimensions that would be great and i would gladly make it worth the time for them. What I worry about is if I am off by a little it could cause huge loss it gold.

It seemed going through this thread it was more about the highbanker attachment but towards the end they showed the sluice pics and looked great.

Thanks for the quick reply :icon_thumright:

Just don't make the trap too small. Give the Au a chance to settle in there. Look at the photos and take a guess! They are kinda fool proof.

Yea the more I look at it, it does look somewhat fool proof but was curious about the lip height coming out of the collection box. I did find the picture below from a member that shows how simple it is:

If this little device works just as good as my A51 Keene I will be excited because of the faster pace I can dig and get more material in the short time I have in the creek.

I've built a few of these and they work better than an A 51or 52 [which are fine , the industry standard] . The fact that you can run so much more material makes them truly a production piece of equipment. Make the lip height the same as entrance

Ok i see the plans but my mech skills are pooooor. Can you build it and sell it to.me? I'd cover materials and labor shipping...dont make me beg....

If someone else wishes to it's ok with me. Right now I'm in the middle of so many projects at once it's definitely not an option for me.
Ive been bombarded with requests of all kinds and I just do not have the time nor the desire to get into production.

GG~

...or you could just buy a Bazooka Goldtrap fluid bed sluice and stop teasing GG! LOL!!

Seriously this is probably a good time of year to get one - between the Christmas rush and the spring mining season rush.

People better get in there and make your order. Before spring I'm going to order a Super Mini and a Miner size BGT, so they are going to be busy with mine and you'll have to get in line. :icon_thumright:

The bazooka just uses 1/2 inch white PVC like you can get for cheap at Lowes or HD. The trick is drilling the right size, number, location of holes in the tubes.

sorry I mean't the turbo intake tubes.....the black things what are they?

Oh, you mean the body of the sluice. The bgt version is ABS plastic. You could make it out of just about anything (wood, steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc) as long as you silicone seal all joints!

Those were long funnels, not really needed once you have the bottom covered. I used them at first because I ran out of aluminum. Now that the bottom is covered, if I need more flow I just fold out the wings.

GG~

ok thanks I thought they were funnels but I couldn't tell. I just cut out my botton piece to make one I just have get a few more things to start putting it together.

I am so glad I found this thread. GG you sir are a great man. Letting people have the design of this is truly a noteworthy thing. I have the materials and the shop to do this in. You will probably see both a new fluid bed at the bottom of my sluice and crutch legs on my sluice for adjustment lol. Probably a new handle on my pump and so on. Hey there is no bigger form of flattery than imitation right?
