Hi all. Hope your day was as good as mine. Last week while trying to get permission at a couple nice old farm houses, I met the daughter of one of the owners. She volunteered her house to me and when I asked her how old it was, she told me it was built in 1832. I was able to go this morning for the first time. Beautiful old house that is very well maintained and she and her husband share it with their 2 very young sons. Great people! Anyway, My first target of the day was an Indian. The last target ( yep, on the way back to the car! ) was an Indian. The good stuff was in between lol. I got a few firsts out of the way ~ a Barber dime, Barber quarter and a beautiful ornate little buckle that I believe is a knee buckle. Hope you more knowledgeable members will enlighten me. Looks like the oldest IH of the 4 I got is an 1864 ( my oldest IH! ). Hope you enjoy the pics. BTW, I only did the front yard and one side yard in 3 1/2 hours so hopefully I can return and find some more!

What caliber is the unfired Winchester cartridge?

It seems like a good spot with a wide array of finds.

Thanks Mr. Q. This is the 3rd Great Seal button I have found but each was a little different. Different eras or size made them all unique. My service in the USAF made me appreciate them.

There is another reason I like you so much, thank you for serving your country. I didn't know or I would have shook your hand for that also.

Great hunt there OD, you got up some real beauties, that's for sure.
ZDD

Ha there is still hash in the resin chamber, fire it up olddude might pack a punch still after all these years. I'd join ya, but I swore off twentysome years ago. lol

I had to wait until I got home and check, MM. It is a 357 round. Thanks to all who replied. Cjon and I are going to go next Fri morning and finish the place if the weather cooperates. We both have ATPro's but he is afraid to get his wet lol. I am up for hunting in the rain personally if I have to.

there is a difference between getting it wet and totally submerging it I'm fine with the rain I can't let you clean that place out totally without me lol.

can't wait till Friday

Well, you know if you'd rather not, you'll be the first to know what I find, lol!

You seem to know something of ammunition. I'm still trying to figure out the 3 shells I found at the mansion. :dontknow: One was a rim fire but I didn't know they made rim fires in larger calibers. See? That's how much I know! LOL

About the ATP getting wet? It's fine, even submersible. BUT, I have a personal qualm with digging in mud puddles. I gave them up even longer ago than Treb swore off. ;) LOL

Actually, I know nothing Gary! I looked on the base and it said 357 lol!

Wow nice! Sounds like you've found a great yard to search. Nice silver coins and relics! Congrats! Get back there!

Congrats on an outstanding day! And those barbers are gorgeous.

Congrats on your Barbers Dave! :occasion14:
It's always sweet when you can find some 'old silver' on a site.

Too bad about the condition of your metal toy gun, looks a bit to far gone for electrolysis. :icon_scratch:
Dave

Congrats on an epic hunt. The Barbers make me drool (more than usual). GL&HH!
