On November 9th, 2024, after about two weeks of the water levels in Youghiogheny River Lake being drastically low, I had the chance to go explore one of Pennsylvania's most unique places. The Great Crossings Bridge, and the village of Somerfield along the old riverbanks had become visible and explorable for only the second time since the lake was formed. In this video, I explain the history of the bridge, the National Road, and the town, and we explore the minute ruins together. I do apologize for the excessive wind noise. I learned my lesson to never leave the house without a lapel mic again. It gets better as the video goes on, I promise.
