Congrats Loco! I'll bet your heart was pumping hard when you saw the date on that green beauty. I sure don't recall many 1877s being posted as of late. With a better photo you would be deserving of a place up top.

I did not know what I had. I called my brother-in-law when I got home to see if he got out today. I let him know I found 2 IHPs. He asked for the dates and about crapped himself when I told him one was an 1877. He said dude I have have almost all IHP's but I do not have that one in my collection. He said on the low end it's worth $400 - $500 if I sold to a dealer and worth more retail. That's how I found out about the key date. I was going to title the post, 2 Indians Caught in a wheat field. :laughing7:

Definitely XF-AU... No question about it being XF!! Thats a true treasure...

Oh... BANNER vote is in Sir...

Fantastic on that 1877. I would have jumped for joy.

Well , I certainly would not call that XF- AU , I do agree with you that it is a treasure !
Full liberty... Hands down. Cant see it well enough to count diamonds... Without even in the hand, XF is certain. Of course, the grading companies would say like, "XF detail, ground corrosion" or whatever else they might term the green patina...

That is a great coin. Good for you. I hope to see it up top as well.

Key date AND good condition? Priceless! And don't worry about the value or the grade. Just pull that baby out any time you are with other diggers and flaunt! Congrats!

You put in the time and you will get results...this is a perfect example of persistence paying off, congrats on one great coin find.

Huge congrats! Been lookin' for one of those forever! You beat me to it.:occasion14:

Great looking Indian!!

You've got a good permission there. I'd say there's still more to be found and silver too.

Congrats!!
