Misc data and adventures of a Tayopa treasure hunter

COAZON, OUR PATHS HAVE MET IN A FEW PLACES, BUT OUT OF TIME SYNC. HIGH SCHOOL SHOP TRIED TO MAKE A WELDER OUT OF ME, AND WORKING AS A MILLWRIGHT APPRENTICE TRIED AGAIN. I CAN WELD, BUT IT LOOKS LIKE I CHEWED UP THE ROD AND SPIT IT OUT ON THE SEAM. A GRINDER AND BLENDING DISC CAN ONLY DO SO MUCH.

ABOUT MY WRITING SKILLS..... I HAVE ACQUIRED WRITING STYLE HERE. MOST HAVE COME FROM THIS VERY THREAD. MY WRITING SKILLS CAME WITH MY LAPTOP WORD PROGRAM AND THE BOOK "20,000 WORDS".

WRITING ABOUT ONE'S OWN HISTORY IS A CHALLENGE, NO MATTER WHAT THE SUBJECT MATTER.

I TRY TO JUST TELL EVERY PIECE OF EACH STORY, JUST AS I WOULD TELL IT SITTING AROUND A CAMPFIRE.

IF NOT FOR MY CAMERA, GPS, AND COMPUTER KEEPING TRACK OF TIMES, DATES AND SUBJECT MATTER, ALL OF MY BOOK WOULD HAVE BEEN LOST WHEN I HAD MY HEATSTROKE.

MY LIFE HAS NEVER BEEN AS INTERESTING AS DON JOSE'S. I HOPE THAT HE FINDS TIME TO RECORD HIS, FOR THE SAKE OF TRUE HISTORY. I HEAR THE VOICE OF RICARDO MANTAUBON [ I AM SURE THAT I HAVE MISSPELLED HIS LAST NAME] WHEN I READ DON JOSE'S WORDS. HE HAS "STYLE". NO ONE ELSE CAN DO THAT FOR HIM.

I HOPE THAT HE DOES FINISH WHAT HE STARTED. AT LEAST DICTATE IT TO A RECORDER.

MORE TO COME....

Howdy Don Cuervo Especial,

That explains why I can't write, I tend to ramble when going into anything. I want to throw every detail in, and everything brings something else I want, or think I need to get across, going off subject sometimes, forgetting what I was trying to say.

Thats why I keep most of my posts short, and being a "Sabe Poco" dosen't help me either.:laughing7:

Howdy Prospetormikel,

Sorry to hear about your heatstroke, that's serious danger. You have a lot of good ideas for saving what could be lost, one never knows. Crow confirms your way of writing, and makes me realize why I can't write. You don't need to lead a very adventurous life like Don Jose, or Crow, to write a book. Every life is different, and what ever experience you had, only you experienced it, not Don Jose, or any other. I am sure there are many who would enjoy reading about it.

Don Cuervo Especial,

Again I beg forgiveness for my manners, I have been meaning to congratulate you for both your wife, and son. You finally struck it rich.:occasion14:

Hope you all have a long and happy life together.

Homar

Hello Coazon de oro

On the contrary it is I, that beg forgiveness. For Old Crows many years of drunken debauchery never realizing the greatest treasure of all is one of the most simple pleasures in life. It is some thing many of you have known all along.

Homar that is natural for everyone.... Hell some times my beak chirps quicker than I am thinking:laughing7:

Some times I have to blink and ask my self did I just say that or was I thinking it.....open mouth insert foot.:laughing7: This my friend the humanity of being human.

In writing the trick is to write in small 4-5 lines paragraphs. No one is natural it just comes with time and practice. In fact your writing clear and concise in posts in fact better than average in regards to many posters. So do not my friend let that hold ya back as you too have a story to tell also.

And no it is also not an excuse for Don Amigo either as he is more than capable of writing his book. I could cut and past part of many of his posts here on treasurenet to fill a book and more.

Our wise and curious black bird……better to find your treasure late, than never………
It is only life experiences and the grace of God that opens our eyes to understand what is truly important in life……
Clearly money and wealth cannot buy happiness, all the earthly pleasures cannot provide happiness……..the lives of men and women who have been granted, both stand as testimony to that…….
Yet it is true that we do need some degree of money to live and free us to focus on what is important…..
As for me, I have given up on our Señor statesman Don Jose and will not be part of making him walk the plank……..I now am willing to accept what he has written here, what all have written here………

Nearly settled again here, the time soon comes to explore this beautiful country……vaya con Dios mis amigos…….

Well my friend once again it late for this old bedraggled Crow. its been very hot today. But has cooled down nicely. Yes the afternoon siesta to escape the heat does wonders. These days I look forward to the grandpa nap. You do indeed have a great adventure in front of you exploring such a beautiful country. Treasure is really as ORO has said is where you find it.

Searching for treasure in some respects is a metaphor in our own personal journeys. Climbing our own Mt Everest so to speak. But there are times in all of us we lose our way or become tired in our long toil to reach the summit. However it is always nice and refresshing to know there is other people on their own personal Mt Everest, that takes time to encourage those weary souls so close yet so far from climbing their mountain, to push forth onwards. Don Jose has pushed forth on his mountain for more than life time of many, it would be a pity to see him fade on the Hilary steps of his own MT Everest.

The story Don Amigo has to tell will be an inspiration to all the other who will follow in his footsteps....Even if he has not realized it yet?

ok, so I have a fetish about writing, after all I live in manana land, oro has the land with the fetish with sheep, Judy with her geology, Prospecter his ,etc, and My riend Crow has his, born in the south seas, now a moma.

A ROUND FOR THE HOUSE,ON ME....

I MUST GO BACK TO MY BOOK NOW. I HAVE ONE MORE CHAPTER TO WRITE. IF I GET SIDELINED I HAVE NO ONE TO BLAME BUT ME.

THE STORY HAS UNFOLDED BEFORE ME, SO I MUST, BEFORE IT VANISHES AWAY.

BUT, DO REMEMBER THIS....."OUTSIDE OF A DOG, A BOOK IS MAN'S BEST FRIEND. INSIDE OF A DOG, IT'S TOO DARK TO READ." GROCHO MARX.

Don Jose, I through necessity who wears many hats my friend. No it was my own personnel design. As I had a picture of sun shing through clouds it remined of the following story of Tayopa.

On the 7th day of March stand on the summit of Cerreo de la Campana, near the villa de la Concepcion, and look into as it sets. It will setting directly over Tayopa. Travel 8 days from Cerro de la Campana towards the sunset of 7th of March you will find Tayopa

As soon as Saw the picture I thought yep it would make a great cover for ya book.

Crow

And now Señor Don Jose comes your turn with the book……….we can't expect Señor Crow to be pecking out a book with his beak, one letter at a time……have some mercy……...

Good evening and some fresh ground deliciousness to all-

Don Jose (nor anyone else currently putting life's lessons on paper) need not worry too much about things like writing style, punctuation, run-on sentences, etc. All you have to do is just WRITE THE DANG STORY!!! Leave all that other stuff up to the editors! Just make sure you thoroughly proofread those who've proofread you ...just to make sure they didn't change any of the story!!

Here's another idea that may be helpful in getting a book accomplished quicker, yet still not having to sacrifice the little details that may get missed if someone else ghost writes it. Something I've done recently with my 94-year-old grandmother is to take a small handheld recorder (nowadays a good 2-10GB model will run you about $50-80 depending on the store) and simply ask her questions about different points in her life. She's at that point where she couldn't tell you what she ate for breakfast 2 hours ago, and yet her mind is like a steel trap on events that happened 50 years ago! This way, should she unfortunately pass away, I can still educate my 16 month old daughter on who her great-grandmother really was....and boy does she have yarns!! With the story on tape (or should I say memory stick), one just needs to convert it over to paper. There's even technology for doing this easily too! There are programs that allow you to speak into a microphone and it puts the words on a MS Word based platform on your computer. Ain't the 21st century grand?!

Sorry if I'm rambling. Just trying to help. Good luck to all those putting pen to paper (or finger to keyboard) and, pretty please with sugar on top, add me to the ever expanding list of those salivating over the opportunity to purchase a first edition copy of what I'm sure will be the treasure story of a lifetime!
All the best.

Salud!

J.A.

That's it JudyH!!
Thank you for reminding me! I couldn't remember the name of the program but figured someone here would know. Now pass that on to our mutual amigo, el Tropical Tramp.

All the best-
