Howdy Prospectormikel,
That would be the Wild Horse Desert of South Texas, LaSalle county, close to Cotulla. I have bounced from Kingsville, to Cotulla, Peoria, Illinois, San Antonio, Refugio, Encinal, Pasadena, and back to Cotulla. I was one of those natural born welders, I have seen many professionals who could not duplicate my first bead in high school. I went from high school straight to welding for Caterpillar in the East Peoria plant. I don't like cold weather, and came back to Texas, welding got me into the gas fields where I worked for 19 years before being disabled.
Arkansas is a nice place, I have only passed through it several times. Many don't like the South Texas brush county, and I don't blame them, but it's where I grew up, and feel at home among the heat, and thorns.
Yes the treasure legends threads is where the real stories are found, and most here have something they are working on. I am trying to get by the smallest of five legends that are spread over four states. On four I more certain that Don Jose is of his Tayopa, the other just needs to be verified with a good two box. I have never owned a metal detector, maybe when I uncover the first legend, I will get what I need to verify the biggest legend.
I also look forward to Don Jose's book, he doesn't need any help when it comes to writing. I also look forward to your book, to find out what kind of stones you are talking about. If I ever put a book out, it would be a coloring book, as I have no writing skills.
