Minelab Equinox available on Cabelas website

I only buy from dealers, they are who provide the hobby and owners with support and expertise, try calling Cabellas and ask them how to adjust a settings on a detector or correct an issue and see what they say.
I would love to buy from a dealer as I usually do. However none of them have any idea when they might be able to fill orders and cabelas seems to be getting weekly shipments in. The dealers need to take this issue up with minelab.

The only reason I am going with the 800 is the gold prospecting mode to possibly locate a gold chain when I find a gold charm/cross or pendant.

Would the tone break and pitch adjustments make a difference if Im golng to dig everything above iron anyway?...Im going to get the 600 for saltwater use and I dig everything except iron.

Exactly... you could buy a nice pair of waterproof headphones with that extra $250-$300.

Btw I was wrong about gold chains. I thought that 1 and 2 were iron signals... the are not, from what I've read, iron signals are negative. So it can actually detect gold chains as low gold number not iron.

I did a field test with the 800 proto, I buried a thin gold chain 3-4 inches in the dirt and Equinox was able to detect it, several owners have posted videos of The Equinox detecting gold chains in wet sand and in the water.

Iron is in the neg numbers -1 to -9, gold chains are in the low range of about +1-3, which is also where tiny gold nuggets will be found,it could also be little higher as well, too early to know at this moment since only chins I have tested and seen tested were tiny thin chains, beigger chains may come in slightly higher. I know the one I tested was a "1" and one of the videos I saw where it was detecting a thing gold chain was also a "1".

Not a must have feature so if you are going to dig everything 600 should be fine. As Terry Solomon demonstrated, the 600 is a highly capable machine. If you were digging relics in highly mineralized soil or thick iron or prospecting, or wanted to use your favorite headphones untethered from the detector (without having to purchase extra hardware) the 800 might be a better choice.

I just have highly highly highly mineralized soil with additional nail pits for added fun. My XP laser cuts through them, I don't know if anything else will. Would be a good place for a test drive.

I was highly skeptical as well. It said 4-7 business days and I was like yeah right, because everybody else worldwide was backlogged. This was on Friday the 9th. On Monday, I received a tracking number. Then last Friday, it was at my door. With it still being early in the week, you should have a tracking number before the end of the week.

Mine says shipped but still no tracking number. Maybe today.

Sign up for (UPS my choice) as it will hit before you will get any reply from cabelas. There is also an APP for smart phones.

Thank You For Your Order
Order Number: 2505*****
Order Status: Shipped
Order Date: 02/20/2018

YAY

I ordered mine on the same day. Order says shipped, but I still haven't received an email confirming anything except that it was ordered. :dontknow:

same here for me. I ordered on the 20th, Cabelas site says "shipped" but no tracking email yet

Should be today, tomorrow at the latest, and you should have a tracking number. Took a good 24 hours at least for me to notice one. I believe the shipped status is when they create the shipping label and the tracking number will come when UPS actually has the package.

Did they make you sign for it or did they drop it off on your door?

Thank you sir.

That's what I was thinking.

Ive found every ring that someone called me over and said they had lost it in the water...Ive looked for several gold chains for people and have yet to recover one...I was wondering if the 800 in 40 single freq would find them or would it false too crazy to use...looks like it may find them in multi freq so the 600 may do the job also.

I got my tracking info!!!! :headbang: I just logged on to my Cabela's account and it is there now! It is a UPS tracking number. However, when I track it in UPS.com it is not in their system yet. I'm guessing that the label has been printed and once it actually gets uploaded to UPS, I'll get the actual email. In any event, this is promising.
