Million ounces <--- Say what????

Was there ever a book, or anything written on the Pioneer interviews that can be bought.
Did Tom do anything in his chronicles.

Morning Horsey, to answer your question on the vein, very seldom does the vein carry the same values throughut ii's body. In other words while it may carry extremely high Gold in a certain part, it may not be worth working in another.

I just posted this above:

As far as I know no book has ever been done on it, the info is too sparse to fill a book anyway but Tom Kollenborn did an article on it which is online, have the link here somewhere or just look up the Kollenborn Chronicles in the older articles.

I am pretty sure that no book has ever been done on the interviews version, possibly because it was little known and has very little actual information. Basically just that it was common knowledge that Waltz had a rich gold mine somewhere on a side canyon off Pinto creek; that he had hired a carpenter in Florence to build him a small portable drywasher to follow float gold back to the vein and this is how he found it. No Spanish, Peraltas, etc but does still support that he had gone to Florence and likely the partner story (Weiser) and definitely no huge funnel shaped pit or Apache massacre of the Peraltas.

If you compare the story in Barry Storm of the "Jacobs and Ludy" (or might be spelled Ludi?) to the story of the LDM from Holmes and Julia/Reiney, there are too many parallels for me. In fact one old version of the lost Ludy brothers mine, which included Peraltas and an Apache attack, ran in a newspaper and the mine was a SILVER mine.

Good luck and good hunting amigos, I hope you find the treasures that you seek.

I believe Pinto creek was one of the regions where Waltz had searched for gold , but is not the LDM region .

You wrote about the LDM story from Holmes and Julia / Reiney . I believe this story hides from public some ( two ) important clues which gave them Waltz before he die . Look at Julia's map . She have mixed all the clues which gave Waltz , and threw them without order in the map .
You have read the story and you know the clues . The horse head rock ( somewhere we have heard again about ) and the three pines are not in the story . These two clues is very important because are close to the mine . The horse head rock shape is below and the three pines is the closest clue to the mine . I believe Julia Thomas had not so much imagination to put these clues in the map without have heard them .

LOL @ nonbeliever :D

And now I disappoint :(

I suppose the entire internet is having a good chuckle at me pointing out that we don't see much evidence.

Even "if" there "was" LDM, we don't know it was much of anything (or anything left). If it was, JW sure wasn't so smart about things.

That is how it looks to me so far.

I have an open mind.

Hello CNL
Look closer, I don't think, Jacob cared what people was thinking about him back then, and I'm sure he didn't care what we think about him today! But if you look, you can see who the man was, or I believe you can! Helen Corbin's books will help!

I must respectfully disagree - and there is gold (recorded production) from Pinto creek, so it is a most promising area for the location of the LDM in my opinion. Good post however Marius!

Frank - great post amigo! I must agree entirely. I think Waltz would be shocked to see what his mine and story has grown into.

What does his caring or not have to do with anything pray tell.

snip I think Waltz would be shocked to see what his mine and story has grown into.

Exactly - much ado about nothing.

No, that is your opinion; I respectfully disagree. Waltz never published a book or wrote a newspaper article to spread the word of his mine, rather the opposite is the case, he only told his closest friends and in private at that. They failed to find it, and told others, and it got in the newspapers etc which is not what Jacob Waltz seems to have desired at all. He wanted his friends to have it. Not thousands of people hunting for it. It may be nothing for you, and you are welcome to your opinion, however not everyone agrees with you. Why not spend your time on other things, as this is "nothing" for you?

Since when does seeking truth = nothing?

I am fleshing this thing out, regardless of where the bloody chips may fall.

Please stick to truth and fact, and explain when you vary.

Amigo you are the one that clearly said this LDM amounts to nothing, your words not mine. Seems like you have just contradicted your own post there - perhaps we have a language barrier? Good luck to you amigo, but I really think that treasure hunting, and the Lost Dutchman mine are not your sort of thing.

So ya tell oro to stick to truth and fact when you started this thread on an opinion. Real good.

ConceptualizedNetherlandr has become an expert here on the LDM in record time, without having read a single book about it; it appears that his main purpose here it to pick a fight with someone, not to discuss the LDM. I sure don't have time for that kind of nonsense. I begin to think you were right earlier amigo when you asked why I bothered to reply to his posts, answering his questions only provided the "bait" he wanted to start the argument.

Same to you (as to horse). You want to argue about me throw up a specific quote with context and your point about it, then we can talk. I will not be baited into defending against any and all undefined whatever.

My time with LDM is exactly as I have laid out from my starting here.

My language is sorta ok - in a Prentice Hall kinda way.

Disrespecting me is no way to advantage your side of any debate. Ever heard of "ad hominem" and fallacies in general? That may fly with some, but NOT the better.

I like you just fine bud, but lets keep it sane, K?

Amigo I like you just fine too - however your approach is leading to argument, repeatedly. You ask for an example, here is one:

You then followed up with,
Since when does seeking truth = nothing?

So which of YOUR posts should I be judging by, the one where you stated it was all "much ado about NOTHING" or the one where you stated "Since when does seeking truth = nothing?"

I don't have unlimited internet time and don't come here for aggravation and argument, which APPEARS to be your main reason for being here. So I am happy to leave you in peace, but don't expect me to continue to answer your questions either.

Good luck to you amigo in your pursuits.

You shorted a quote there bud.

this:

No, that is your opinion; I respectfully disagree.

Should have included the entire context (which was the part I responded to at the end, and which you did not quote):

And yes. Truth remains that we don't have anything to indicate that LDM is more than nothing. Do recall that this thread is about the idea of ~10^6 ounces.

I would be thrilled to hear about that.

For the record, the facts are there, but too distorted, so the nexr best thing is to discuss them. perhaps, just perhaps someone might, just might get a silly Idea wich might crack the story.

Let's not Ger into the semantics on facts
