button found in Virgn Islands. Can anyone make out the lettering on the edge? Any idea as to age? Origin? Arms service? Sorry, this is my only pic for now. I believe it is pewter or silver. Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have no idea what it might say, but this is what I see.
GLECIDIT+PETGVSDU across the top
CRNCRIRGK : PIETETTE around the bottom.
To me it looks like a modern blazer button.
What does the back look like and how big is it?

Agreed, its cheap looking 'white metal', which doesn't suggest Military & is most likely 20th C Civilian.

A picture of the reverse is helpful?
