Do you mean your going to rent one for $30 bucks a day, or your going to want information on how to use it? If that's the case, we need more info........

it means what it says man...has anybody had any experience with a fisher scope metal detector before.

they will probably tell me how to use it at the shop im gonna hire it from.

ok lads and lasses i found a fisher scope for 30 bucks a day, thats the cheapest one i can find for hire.

just wondering if anybody had any experience with it cause ill probably be hiring it out within the next week to start my Metal detecting career.

Hi mercinarie ;
and a Belated Welcome to TreasureNet & Hopefully this great Hobby.

Personally, I think it's a Waste of money to rent (Hire Out) a Detector
for $30.00 a day. odds are, your only going to be finding a couple Bucks worth of Change a day (If your Lucky) at least till you know the machine in & out and have researched some good sites. Even then, nothing is Guaranteed.

in 7 days, you would have Spent enough to Buy a Garrett 250.

and Probably found enough (If your Lucky) to buy a Pack of Smokes ;)

I'm not trying to be rude, just Honest.

Save your money. and Buy one.
I realy Don't want to see you get Ripped off.

and after rereading your other posts, You said you would like to do some Beach hunting.
Maby a good Idea would be if some others here who are into Beach hunting were to give you advice on what the Least expensive Detector
would be for beach hunting. and then work on Purchasing one.

Okay, I'll jump in here. I have no experience with a fisher scope and don't even know what you are referring to. I have had experience with a Fisher 1220 X and a Fisher 1265X. When people see the models I have listed they know what I am talking about. If I asked you if you could explain how to tune up a Ford sedan and that's all the information I provided, could you answer the question?

I have experience with many Fishers. The only thing that Ive heard being rented like that is the Fisher Gemini, two-box. That really would be a waste of time to a newcomer. I gotta agree, with those who say "fahgeddaboudit."

The only other reason you might want to rent a detector is if you knew precisesly where a trove was and only needed the proper tool to retrieve it. This could be one possible reason for being somewhat evasive in your descriptions and rather obnoxious in your responses. I quote:

"...ok lads and lasses i found a fisher scope for 30 bucks a day, thats the cheapest one i can find for hire." - - pretty vague.

"...it means what it says man...has anybody had any experience with a fisher scope metal detector before." - - pretty obnoxious, for someone who has come to request aid.

On the other hand you mentioned your "detecting career," implying you intend to be at it for some time. If you want to try detecting as a pastime, then get a used Ace 250, Whites or new BH and have at it. Dont waste your time and plenty of money by "renting" some detector you'll never have time to get used to. You'd have spent enough to buy a top-of-the-line model by the time you do that.

You'd probably be better off buying the Garrett Ace 250 which is a nice entry level machine it has alot of features usually not found on the entry level machines...... Clevenger detector sales sells em for 199 shipping included... I'm sure someone around here has the 800 number for Clevenger which is where I got mine... I had the number at one time but I don't know what I did with it...

Wow, for $30 you could actually buy an old model on ebay to find out if you like it, or spend a few more bucks, $100-$200, and get a brand new entry level unit. I think if you spend the $30 to rent something you just have to give back at the end of the day, your going to feel like you got ripped off.

ok the only reason i want to rent one is because im a student and it will take me months to save up and buy one.

and its vague cause thats what the shop told me. and im not being obnoxious, im just said the question again for those people who somehow didnt understand it.

Dude I'm sure alot of people understood the question... But there are many machines you can buy at decent prices depending on where you go... The only thing about renting a detector is if your looking for somthing it might come in handy... Lets say you or someone you love lost a valuable piece of jewlery or some other metal object that was important to them that would be a good situation to rent one atleast if they lost it in a grassy area...

But if you plan on buying one or perhaps asking for one for christmas you should call Chuck Clevenger... He has some really great deals on detectors... Like I mentioned earlier I paid 199 for the Ace 250 that detector usually goes for 249... And also if you buy a detector from Chuck shipping is usually included like in my case and he usually throws in a few freebies... Included with the detector I got it came with a coin apron, and a decent set of headphones which I might add has an individual volume control for each ear piece...

In this case renting for a day or two to see if you actually
might like detecting may not be such a bad Idea.

what scared me was your comment (Maby tongue in Cheek, but
maby not) "start my Metal detecting career." I thought maby you had
a belief that you would find more then $30.00 a day detecting.
Although it is absolutely possable you could walk on the beach & find a $30,000.00 Ring or Gold Rolex with the first swing of the detector,
most find a Can tab first, or a penny if they are lucky :P

As for Fisher M-Scope they are a great detector Company, but
they make many different types of detectors.

Keep us Informed of your Progress.

If you rent it once a week for a month, thats $120, a real good down payment on a basic unit. For many of us it didnt take much to get hooked, one good find is all. ;D

Good Luck

lol i didnt mean as an actual career. :D

You'd be surprised.

There are actually some who think it's as easy as Swinging a Detector to get rich. just like Buying a Lottery ticket, there are some who will spend their weeks pay, thinking that makes it a sure thing. :P

No Way I'd ever rent a metal detector - regardless - just borrow one!

Since you got a little attitude,do what ever you want to do man! p.s have a nice day man!! :D

a little attitude...i think all you americans are taking me to litterally, i think we speak different here in australia or something.
