It's all cool. ;D

I myself only mean don't waste too much renting, when you could be buying. You can always trade up. ;D

yea the only problem is that i cant buy one till march next year because of financial constraints.

I hope you find one soon that your able to afford so you don't have to rent! that way you can use more often. there's one on ebay (ace 250 garrett) for bidding price right know for 149.00 plus shipping Good luck mate!

If you are that financial constained then why waste the money to rent it? I have an old BH id sell you for $60 plus shipping.

Why not just take the $30 or so a day and put the machine in layaway. Then while you're paying it off, do some research on some good areas in your neck of the woods. Then when you start out, you have a good jump on places to go.

Save your money or at least part of it. Unless you have a secret hot spot, no one really gets rich the first day out.

Ive never seen metal detectors to rent before. It might be kool to rent a couple different ones to see if you like em before you buy em. I mean 30 bucks a day isnt a lot of money in the scheme of things. Besides maybe you go out and decide that you dont like it (unlikey). If renting is the only way you can get into it, I say take it and go for it. Its better than wishing you were out detecting.

A fella I know says he'd rather save a dollar a day until he could get what he wants rather than to waste the money. Good suggestion, for you, mate.
Meanwhile, find a friend with one, take out an ad in the local paper for a detecting chum, etc. There are also clubs, here and there.

Lots of good advice here already, but I'll re-iterate some, just to make the point stronger.

DO NOT RENT A DETECTOR! If you can't afford one, wait till you can. There will still be plenty of coins to find when you do get around to buying one.

What I see you wanting to do, is falling into the same trap that so many have before you. You want something. You can't afford it. You go to "rent-to-own" place and "rent" whatever it is you want. In the end, you pay about 10X what you would have paid for buying a brand new one if you had just saved you money up.

It's alread been said to put that $30 rent money back until you can buy one, and you replied that you would just spend that money on something else. If that's true, then you don't REALLY want a metal detector in the first place.

TD

umm no thats not true, i really want a metal detector but im on a really small budget and any extra money is used up in other stuff.
