A 2 hour hunt this morning at a woodland trail place where I have had luck finding a number of 1700 era items. Found a couple of old plain buttons, one with a chunk of white pottery with it.
Last find was a solid 40-45 and quite deep (Minelab 900). It was this interesting very green and thin copper coin. About half penny size. I could see some details but when I cleaned it better at home and I'm stumped. Certainly nothing I have ever found before. The back side of the coin is quite slick and hard to get a decent image. But there is 4 crosses showing like the image I included. The other side is a pyramid with a N in the middle. A cross at the top and bars coming out of the pyramid sides with what looks like crowns on the ends. Area below the pyramid is difficult to make anything out. Is this some kind of token? French "N" for Napoleon like the coin found online?? Thought someone here might have a clue. Either way, thanks for looking and look forward to hearing anybody's take. Bill

I think you are on a nice old site for sure! Your coin is a 6 deniers minted 1710-12...N is the mintmark for Montpellier France.
Super find!
