Wow wow wow! I hit the jackpot today!

I tried a new park that I've driven by a hundred times but never thought it was worth hunting. It's small, seldom used and surrounded by newer houses. I figured there couldn't be much there.

Not sure what inspired me to hunt it today but I'm sure glad I did.

I found the dimes in 2 separate stashes about 10 feet apart. The first spill had 12 dimes and the other 48 were just a few paces away. The strange thing is all of the dimes were in the top inch of dirt. I found newer coins that were buried deeper. I think it must have been a modern spill but I don't know who would be walking around with a bag full of mercury dimes.

Anyway I'll be headed back to that park very soon.

Easy on rbarnwell! You have to admit it is a pretty incredible and unusaul find. I have seen some claims on here that I have called out as bs myself. I just don't think this one is.

easy on him :BangHead:
REAL OR FAKE?

Occasionally a member may have doubts about the authenticity of an item posted by another member. Here are a few things to keep in mind:

1. It is NEVER appropriate or permissible, regardless of proof, to state or suggest in an open forum that another member's find may not be genuineโ€” unless, of course, he has raised that possibility himself, or there is an obvious issue that cannot be disputed or ignored (for example, if the word "COPY" is clearly stamped on a coin).

2. It is NEVER appropriate or permissible to suggest that a member may not actually have found the item which he has posted as a find.

3. Members are free to express such opinions to one another in private messages, but should NOT continue to do so if those messages are unwelcome.

4. Do NOT report doubts, suspicions, possibilities, or rumors to moderators or the administrator. Any formal report or complaint should be accompanied by full and absolute proof from independent, authoritative sources that the item is not, and cannot be, genuine.

Failure to follow these guidelines may result in censure, loss of privileges &/or access to certain forums, or outright banning from TreasureNet.

All finds posted are presumed to be genuine, and those who post them are to be respected.

Yeah,I had a singing mule once!........................................Just jokin'! My ex used ten silver certificates to pay for a tank of gas one time!! Im sure some brat has a wuppin'comin' over this deal! Anyway your the lucky one and that's all that matters! Outstanding work! Keep it up! You need to claim the world record for finding that many mercs at once! That's just nutz!! I'll be belly up and stinkin' to high heaven before I find that many silvers!! Anyway! Awesome!!

Well I've been back to the park where I found all the merc's a couple of times and it appears that I found everything.

If anyone in the Twin Cities wants to give it a try, head to Sandcastle Park in Roseville. Just make sure that you throw up a post if you find anything.

Thanks for looking and all the comments.

Absolutely outstanding man. Way to sniff out those slivers. Keep that coil to the soil. And HH
