Lots Of Great Talent On This Forum..."WHAT DO/DID YOU DO FOR A LIVING?????"

After just short of 30 years with the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, I retired this past January. Six of those years were working with the Bureau of Forestry as a clerical worker for a state run tree nursery and then the last 24 at a facility for juvenile delinquent boys. I took care of all the resident's money, paid their restitution and basically kept everyone on track. I've always wanted to have a farm so I turned my meager six acres into a micro-farm with a bunch of chickens, two goats, four cats and a dog. Hoping to add turkeys next year. I have a large garden and love doing just about anything outdoors. Very eager to begin water detecting since I don't like working outside when it's really hot and humid. I have my Advanced Open Water scuba diving certification but sold all of my equipment ages ago (wish I wouldn't have done that now!), but still enjoy snorkeling and have my snorkeling gear, so water hunting is the next step.

Project Engineer (28 years) for a major suspended ceilings manufacturer. Facilities design, production equipment, tool and dies, products... jack of all trades, master of none. Former sports photographer (Pro lacrosse, both indoor box, and field)

Right out of high school I got a job LASER welding on ordnance devices. While there I invented an underwater 44 mag for sharks. Moved to Maui for a year and just tested it. Yes, I lived on Maui for a year with no job, diving everyday, most of the time with my Fisher. My invention never went to production because of the cost of liability insurance so it just sits now. Worked in a large sheetmetal shop for 10 years, then the owner died and the business did too. That's when I started my fabrication business. I call it Justbent. So now when it's slow I make prospecting equipment. I have no employees so I can close up when I want and go prospecting. Workin for yourself is the only way to go.

Raymond forklift technician 53 years old . Damn I love this sport of dirt fishing LOL

Started at the tender age of 5 yrs old doing chores on the family farm ... That lasted till I was 16 . At 16 I started working construction . 5 yrs as a high end custom residential home builder and 5 yrs as a commercial steel building rigger . At that point family came to the top of my priority list and I had to make a decision that was not conducive to me being on the road 5 days a week . That lead me to getting a job close to home . I have been a retail distribution forklift operator for the last 19 yrs driving a Raymond standup electric lift for the biggest retailer in the world . And when I can find local work I still pound nails in a residential setting .
