I hear ya brother. Been on disabilty now for four years. 5 brain surgeries and two strokes. So trying to support wife and 3 kids now (had 5 during that time) on limited income. Who would've thought, retired at 40 and didn't win lottery. Blew threw the savings and still trying to cope. Been detecting and saving the clad and been prospecting. Not rich yet. Lol. But at least finding some gold. Wish I started these hobbies when able to run the hills, but at least my diggings are close to the beating path.
Keep up the fight. Hope you've got family. My wife's still around. Can't believe that. I guess I'm lucky she puts up with me.
If you're ever in Arizona I could take ya out to do some prospecting or hunt some parks. Or we could collect brass in the desert.

Wow we are both young iam 44 , was married for 16+ years have two beautiful daughters . Then about two years ago wife decided she wasn't happy and started to cheat and got pregnant from this idiot. He kicked her as out and she came running home asking if is take her back along with her new baby! Well for sake of my daughters I wanted to keep family together insaid yes. Well on my bday last march she left in the morning and went and picked up her baby's daddy and came home and said she is leaving me and our two daughters. So now it's just me and my daughters and iam on disability as well so money is an issue defiantly , can you talk about stress that iam under lol , but I hope karma pays her a visit! Yeah Sask. a couple of young pups on early retirement. Sure sucks. Sorry about your ex, but it'll come around to her.

Just keep truckin as they say. I keep getting up each day and just wait to see what the world brings. I know how fortunate I am to be alive and don't try to waste it. Though there are the days when wasting is what I do. Lol.
Just try to plan out trips to goldfields and possibly detect a time or two between them. Funds depending of course.
I truly don't know how I've been able to get by this long, but it keeps working out. I just don't try to let the stress get to high. Just come her and read about "lost treasures of mariposa"(eagle's thread) or even Lanny AB's thread. Two of which I really enjoy. Though there are many others I enjoy as well. I love seeing peoples finds, or the discussions about which detector is better. Lol. Always good for a laugh and learning session. So much to learn from others that are involved deeply into detecting.
