Sorry but i dont understand

The title " Treasure hunter of the year " is given by a club in Apache Junction to the people who try/tried to find the lost Duchman's mine or other different treasures. From what I have seen at that promotion, is not necessary to find the LDM or any treasure , but to have friends in that club, to write a book or to make some numbers in video films.

marius...the event is actually to honor a treasure hunter that has devoted their entire life to treasure hunting

Maybe in the beginning.
not really marius....everyone i know that received the award deserved it...i've never seen a newbie get it...just old timers that have been at it for years...most of the old guys had to have help carrying the award because it was so heavy (they used to put a big hunk of sandstone on it)

Everybody see it from his own angle. But what I wanted to say, was how is not necessary to find any treasure or the LDM to take that award, is enough to show an interest on the subject, like doing some trips around the mountains, write a book and make some documentaries not too far from your car.
You have mixed up the real meaning of the treasure hunter, or maybe you have never understand it.

i understand it just fine ..i think it is you that doesn't...anyone that has ever won that award has spent years in the mountains and hiked or rode hundreds of miles in there....pretty simple to understand

I didn't know how if someone hike or ride hundreds of miles looking for a hole in the ground, become a treasure hunter. If this is the rule for the Apache Junction people, then I agree with you and apologize for my misunderstood.

PS

Maybe Waltz knew the mindset about treasure hunting in that region, and said how no cowboy or miner would find his mine. Of course he didn't know how they will be awarded for this.

Couldn't help but see the dark spot on the pic of the gold. Is that a dif mineral? Looks green? Screenshot_20200420-153748.pngVery nice pic by the way. I'd be honored and proud to if found anything close to looking that pretty. Def not need any award.lol

Marius, did Not Peralta send you the "gold" in that picture of his you posted? If he did, you could have it assayed ;) I would bet that it would be about 98% silicon, 1% iron, and 0.5% Testor's gold model paint. Or foil leaf ;)

This has been said before, but it's customary on this forum to give credit to the poster that provided pictures:

Anyone notice something kind of "funny" about any of these pics?

The pic I posted was taken by NP. Dave knew was NP's. I post this pic as an example. My relation with that pic is how I know where that mine is because NP has told me before die. Something like Waltz-Holmes story. BTW, is not the only gold mine I'm aware in the Superstitions. If I count the gold mines on the sacred mountain with the other in different places of the Superstitions, they are 16.

Well, if you know of a gold mine in the Supes that produces ore as rich as Not Peralta's looks, by all means get on an airplane and come over here and show those Apache Junction folks a thing or two about what it means to be a treasure hunter ;) In the meantime, stay safe amigo, hope you and yours are well, healthy and prospering!
