Limited finds, but they're old

Tried a couple fields but the one I was most interested in was a little long, so went back to the two we did last week. Most of my targets (at least the more interesting ones) date mid 1700s, and we were lucky as our friend the Patriot was nice enough to walk right by a good part of the site and stay in his one little spot. You're not that good yet... maybe in the range of the PA bros.

Better finds were the little green Jesus, French bale seals, and George II copper all dating about 1740s or 50s. I don't have any peroxide so the cleaned pics won't be until at least tomorrow. Not as good as last time but certainly enough targets to have a chance.

I'd do the same if it would save my screen.

My $500 1.5 yead old monitor seems to be on the way out. Think (and hope) it's still under warranty!

Won't be much different. Leaving the green shows the detail better so it's just a few places I will clean the thicker stuff.

For our dirt for sure. The detail is expected though because it was most likely lost by 1760. I'm sure it was bright and shiny when it hit the dirt. A person gets so used to dug coins it's easy to forget how perfect the condition once was.

How the heck would you remember a designed button from a few years ago.

If it's the case, I guess the mystery is close to solved. I almost wonder if the NJ site was the field we started in, the big button was just at the edge of the French field, but fit better with the few things I found on the other side. He was close, but how did he miss so much!

This winter, you'll be lucky to see me responding to anyone. I guess you can say that I'm a poor sport right after the first snow flake hits the dirt.

I really envy those Colonial hunters down south. They really have no excuse for taking off.
