The highlight of the first hunt was the wheat penny and the crushed aluminum kids ring. Straightened that out, too bad its a no fit me ring lol ! Second hunt the best item was a 1925 Buffalo Nick ! Sure was hard to get it out of the ground, must have spent over 5 minutes extracting it.

Whoops almost left out the most interesting and curious item, is it a shotgun shell made into a button or a button made to resemble a shell ??? Head scratcher for sure, anyone have info please?

Button made to look like a shotgun shell. A real shell would have a deep primer pocket dead center where this appears to have a solid center.

Good point on the deep primer part. Still it has some age, was totally full of grass root in the back part. Wonder when they were doing buttons like that?

Nice finds, have seen buttons like that on western garb, they have belts with like buttons riveted to them.

How ironic.... when you get a midtone signal you always hope for a button but it usually turns out to be a shotgun headstamp. With this you get both! Haha
