we had an ol' timer get drop kicked while gardening here in Ft. Myers. absolutely disgusting "trend", or game these days. Good news is the GIRL got busted and is now in juvy...can only hope that doesn't happen to one of us or our loved ones....scary.

Well that was an educational post. No I don't really watch TV that much. I watch the weather reports a lot. Mostly I read newspapers that you hold in your hand and turn the pages. Lots of good advice given here in this thread. DO NOT shoot for the head, shoot at the larger body mass. My biggest concerns are whether a tree will fall on me, gettin caught in a slide, p*ssing off a bear, or maybe hypothermia. I just don't really frequent areas that are popular with roving gangs of young thugs.

I'm never armed. So I always have to size up the situation you find your self in. Twice in my life I got out of a situation by putting my hand in my pocket as if I had a gun and ment to use it. Each time they backed down. I'm not saying this is something to do, only that those two particular times by reading the situation that is what I did. Another time waiting for a pay phone I had a knife put to my back as 4 guys surounded me. I said, "You got me. Money is in my front pocket. Just don't poke me with that thing." I wasn't scarred or angery. They took my money and walked away. I'm sure if I yelled, fought back or resisted I would have wound up on the side walk holding my guts. You can always replace what someone takes but your family can't replace you. Even if your armed, someone can get the drop on you. In NYC every now and then you read of an off duty armed cop getting mugged and losing his gun. Comes back to being aware of your surroundings and using good judgment. I have been in situation where I have been scared, but those are other stories. This stuff happened decades ago when crime was rampant in the city.

Remember the game of drive by shootings with a paint ball gun? They used to video tape them too as they would drive by and start shooting people in the back with a paint ball gun. What fun!

Until some of the 'victims' started to return fire.

Problem solved.


This new generation of youthful fun will discover the same results, just give it time.

I realize these lost thugs aren't very swift, but some of us, not I, seem to be more vulnerable looking targets.
Confidently bold in my opinion often gets you skipped in these situations.

Also remember in these days we are always around glass some where.
Car windshields, store fronts, ect.You can see whats behind you if you are aware of your surroundings.
Reflections and shadows can be your friend. As well as an enemy.

you have more of a chance getting hurt driving than you do being the victim of "the knockout game".

protect those around you and don't let it ruin a day out of the house.

There is no one "worried" about it, that doesn't diminish the resentment about it happening or the travesty of the way many on the left view it..

More than one member challenged Escape for saying he wasn't worried.

As one who lives in a left leaning part of the country - take note we were among the first to bring the subject of Knockout to the forefront. Sounds to me like we are taking it seriously.

My personal view on Knockout - it's a horrendous senseless crime.

My view on becoming a victim of knockout - about the same as yours on being attacked by a shark while beach hunting in the water at night.

Have you seen the "Critical Defense" 22 WMR? I bought a box and they are menacing. I shoot a WMR revolver with a 6.5 inch barrel frequently. It is very accurate. Taurus now has a nine-shot revolver, but, it is hard to find.

No but the wife took a .17 Mach 2 bolt action rifle in trade on a Corvette she was selling because the buyer was a few bucks short of the asking price. VERY interesting little round. Squirrels run away screaming when they see one.. Based on a .22LR casing. In fact it uses the same magazine as the .22 version of the same rifle.
