Kevin in Colorado...and elsewhere

Got out digging in winter conditions yesterday. Fun time trying out the Grizzly Goldtrap Motherlode sluice for the first time. Just loved it!

Here’s about 1/4 of the gold. I sent the rest of the cons and the biggest flake home with the other guy since he’s a newbie :)

Sadly the handle on my old green lucky bucket broke. Easy to replace the handle or try to find a new green bucket?

You in the S. Platte..? Looks familiar.. great photos, thanks!! Heavy pans..

Close but no, this was Clear Creek near the west edge of Jefferson County :)

I have a serious case of gold fever due to not being in the river for several weeks. I think I’ll make time next week after Christmas.

Meanwhile, to keep sane I wrote another article for my website. This one is a guide to buying an existing claim. For those of you who are curious or want to advise me on how to improve it, it’s called How to: Buy A Mining Claim. The website of course is findinggoldincolorado dot com but I can’t give an actual link since I’m just a regular member here ;)

Not sure I am going along with this ... who here has ever accused you of being regular?

I got out to scout a new dig site after Christmas. Way too much snow to be safe digging alone but the scouting convinced me to go back when access is safer in the spring :)

Meanwhile, i feel like I can share this here: I just totaled up my book sales. The book came out on Amazon at the end of May. Since then I’ve sold over 1,250 copies via a mix of Amazon, Facebook and prospecting shops across Colorado. I’m just thrilled with the initial response to the book and the initial sales!

Thanks to all here for your help building my knowledge and experience over the years. [emoji177][emoji177]

With your help I turned my passion for “Finding Gold In Colorado” into something that can change many people’s’ experience of casual prospecting in Colorado. This is already helping lots of Coloradans and many others from farther afield who dream of, or plan to, come dig Colorado paydirt. I even sold one book to a guy in Sweden - amazing!

If you don't want that green bucket I'll pay shipping and handling to Oregon! However we all know it's your skill and not so much luck. :goldtrophy:

Yesterday’s snowy adventure.

Lots of interesting spots to dig and no evidence of other prospecting.

Did I mention this is in metro Denver?

Today’s adventure. Visiting a friends hard rock mine to watch them load and fire a shot in a double vein. Silver and gold producing.

That Kevin is some special, not often witnessed mining at least not by a lot of folks! Being in an active mine is different, I've been in quite a few old non-working mines so this active mine with all the lights and visibility is way different. Thank you for sharing...........63bkpkr

Sample panning results from a recent snowy exploration in north central Denver. Going to have to go back there with my Gold Cube!

I finished February yesterday with an afternoon of digging in balmy Denver. Great to be out there! I let the gold fever get the better of me so today I’m sore LoL [emoji38]

A sample pan I took part way thru. This pan says “keep diggin’!”

Just realized I never showed the final gold from the last dig I mentioned above. Here it is (1/2 gram):

And I went back there a couple weeks ago and got this ( 0.91 grams of the good stuff):

I’ll be speaking at the GPAA gold & Treasure Show this weekend. My seminar is at 1pm both Saturday and Sunday. Come say hi if you are in the area. It’s at the National Western Stock Show Complex. ImageUploadedByTreasureNet.com1555073199.209976.jpg
PS special thanks to my friend Dennis (who’s also on here) for the logo design work.
