And watched as more miners loaded up their possessions and headed outta town. Shasta/trinity and MANY other counties decimated,bankrupt as the north state slowly dies a horrible economic death--what a shame-all for casino $$$$$$$$$John

that's what they get for listening to leaf licker lobbyist's......... minority will ruin it for majority! the sad part is that we all lose rights because of false accusations,and miss-representation.not to mention that we as dredgers remove more river contaminates, lead-mercury,----heavy metals than all the greenies put together.most of us are more responsible river keepers than they will ever realize. i have seen people with pro-green stickers on thier car -throw out trash and beer cans,while they preach about being green.while i have to pick that crap up,when i leave so i don't have any one think i did it!!!!!!!

2008 we had city fisherman floating trash down the river at us.my 2 big dredge pards are nam combat vets.was glad there was no gun at hand,coulda ended badly.i avoid public access areas till january,trash,offal,meat bees swarming.swarms a monofilament everywhere.am gonna try to video/picture some of this this year.if not in hoosegow for reclamatin.

ga. has a new buffer zone law so far at 25 feet each side no altering or disturbing any trees ,plants shade etc..

i believe ALL,i know i have seen the signs on several rivers(n. ga.).i have also seen the sign on pumkinvine creek in paulding county as well.i know this is definantly all trout streams but might be all.the signs say protected buffer zone.25 feet of bank.................a friend called dnr they said can't cut no vegatation trees bushes anything within 25 feet of bank.

Oh don't get me wrong, I believe most people to be good at heart, just to dammed busy trying to survive in the rat race, to pay much attention to guarding the so called freedoms they espouse to love so much. Every one who want's to save planet earth for the future isn't bad or a Eco-Nazi just poorly informed by the people in power and easily sent on a crusade they know next to nothing about.

It's easy for me to see the problems and gripe about them, it's not so easy to see a clear path as an individual to remedy the problems, another issue faced by the majority who want to fix it but don't know how. Observation says the legal system is a crap shoot at best, dependent on how much money and time you have to wage the battle. Unfortunately the bureaucracy gets to pass a law and enforce it until someone has the time and money to have it repealed, dragging it out as long as possible to deplete the opponents resources.(using your tax dollars to do it)
I don't believe in or condone violence as a solution to any problem, knowing that a violent revolution will be an excuse for those in power to destroy any freedoms we have left, in the name of security and keeping us safe.
It may be that dialog and education with those who have their blinders on coupled with peaceful disobedience of the laws that take away our freedoms (don't hurt others, don't hurt the planet) may be the way to a peaceful revolution

Read in the paper today that the stare government in calif or the US drug enforcement agency dosent have enough man power to go after the Mexican drug gangs growing pot in the national parks, but they have the time go go after you big bad gold miners.
but then again they say the pot growers have guys in the trees with AK 47's.
Makes you wonder.

Just received my ICMJ's Mining Journal today for the month of march 2010. Very good article about Cal, dredger wins claim against fish & game director.
Everyone in Cal, needs to take this kind of action. Might ruffle a few feathers and get something rolling.

sheesh john,was running my 2.5, 4 horse wide open today,nooo was just cleaning silt outa my water storage tanks.weak as a new kitten,compared to the new 4 inch.having a decent little flood year these parts,what a dern shame,not another 97 but enough to make me itchy.flow patterns in the creeks are disrupted,gold will be closer to nozzle this year,yet farrr away.hmmm so this is my mid-life crises(again)
