I thought it was a lion, cheetah head with no crown representing London, and italic w, but can't find w in the London dating system. I'm dying to know where this came from! I also can't find anyone by the stamp of JE. Family is from all over!

Id say the JE is the makers mark. Give this a shot for deciphering the rest of the date code..

First off welcome to the forum.

Is the ring gold or silver?
This will help with the ID.

I agree the JE is a Makers Mark ,
It would be Engraved if it were Initials,
and most likely not that close to the stamps

Nice !! Congrats!!!!

I suggest you do some reading about "pseudo hallmarks". That may be what you have and why you can't find any information using those marks.

Old post, but seemingly revived. Those are actually authentic London hallmarks for Sterling silver but the maker has proved elusive because it’s a relatively modern ring and most sites don’t give marks for modern makers. The ‘W’ is the London date letter for 1996 and the ‘JE’ between two arrows is the mark for Joy Everley of Newburgh Street, London W1.
