Yup, we are seeing more and more gun rights splinter groups out there as most people realize the NRA is in the pocket of big business and not the individual gun owner. They've gotten a little fat and happy wining and dining all the political and corporate big wigs.

Splinter groups <--- a whole 'nother discussion.

Remember the mass exodus from the NRA three or four years ago? When it comes to compromise, any is too much. That is just my understanding of 2A, and perhaps my somewhat Libertarian leaning.

I support several including NRA, when I go to court I want the best most vicious lawyer I can find, right now I believe the NRA is the best to fight for our rights, they have the most political pull, when someone is fighting for my rights I don't want 2nd best, I can't afford to use 2nd best once you lose you lose and appeals
take years. I believe that is where we are right now, this is not a battle we can lose to do so will make millions of us considered criminals by the liberal left because I am never going to surrender my rights, nor register my weapons or agree to invasion of my home by lefts stormtroopers to inspect my guns.

just for kicks I googled "crime rate chicago 2012" and got this. I don't usually cut and paste but I wanted to point something out. I can't vouch for the accuracy of this artical but most results were similar.
Chicago police and Mayor Rahm Emanuel say the city has increased efforts to combat gang crime, including adding officers and other resources in trouble spots such as the Englewood neighborhood on the South Side. Police blame much of the violence on the city's more than 70 active gangs and their tens of thousands of members. The mayor has urged residents to take a stand against gangs in their communities.
The police statistics show 120 homicides from Jan. 1 through April 1, compared with 75 over the same period in 2011.
Factors contributing to the rise could range from lingering economic woes and high unemployment to the unseasonably warm weather that brought more people outside, increasing the chances of conflict and crime, said Jens Ludwig, director of the University of Chicago's Crime Lab.

Note that LAX GUN LAWS was NOT considered a contributing factor! How can that be possible that we don't allow guns and yet people are getting shot? And the lawmakers just can't understand why! What is REALLY funny is, according to the article, the "mayor" has urged the citizens to take a STAND against gangs. LOL! Take a stand with what?....scissors?....pepper spray?......flowers? LOL! Maybe offer them cookies?......hugs?

The data on gun control is out there and easy to find.
"Gun Free" zones are dangerous places and I believe even Mr. Rahm Emanual knows this. I have my theories about it, but I won't get into that. It's an Agenda 21 topic.
I refuse to enter a gun free zone and have warned my children not to, either. Exception: When I take my kid to see Fleetwood Mac I'll, unfortunately, need to come up with something else, maybe a tazer. I dunno...how far do they go?

The original post asks if it's our "responsibility" to fight. I do believe it is our responsibility to "fight" through the courts to avoid them coming to my door but, if they were at my door right now, I wouldn't fight but they wouldn't get nearly all of my guns either. As they say, I would live to fight another day. My "responsibility" then would be to spread the word as quickly as possible to warn others. Then there would be an organized, planned fight. No details
