If it's real it will be my best find yet

Went out and hit the wet sand today and found there was a few swingers in the cuts so i decided to walk way down the beach away from everyone, I'm sure glad i did after about an hour i found a crematory tag. I said a little pray and sent it out to the depths. as i was turning around i got a beep and dug the silver ring. the hair went up on my neck with a couple goose bumps. i looked out to the water and asked if i could find something better with gold, haha 20 minutes later i found this Rolex watch, The hair really stood up then chills even. I gave it a shake and the second hand started to move, and the watch had a lot of encrusting on the stainless and some on the crystal. A little work took most of it off. After talking to a friend on here that has some knowledge about these i sent him a few pictures and described and answered all the questions i could. He then said everything sounds like its the real deal but you still have to take it to the Jewelers just to make sure. If it is i think ill have it repaired, I always wanted one so now maybe i have one.......I'll post tomorrow if its real thanks for looking
Kent
UPDATE;; After bringing the watch to the jewelers i'm happy to say that it came back as a real ROLEX now to have it repaiered will be $500-$700 :)

it sure looks nice. hope it's the real deal

Wow.great find

Nice find! Serial number should be where the band connects good luck!

there is a serial number there says orig rolex design with a number

I am thrilled for you. Hope it's real. :headbang:

That's a good sign as most replicas don't have serial numbers. Is it heavy? Should have perpetual movement, so by shaking it should wind up the watch and start ticking.

I'd put money on it being the real deal. IF it's fake, it's one of the best ones I've seen. If you post a picture of between the lugs (The two pieces that the band would attach to) I can tell you if it's real or not.

Great find! I've had one since I was stationed in Germany and have a few opportunities to buy 'copies'.
The phony Rolex's I've seen will not have the v. clear, well defined lettering on the face like yours has, or have the crest on the wind knob. The best test I've used is that the real deal will be somewhat heavy--copies are always cheap and very light weight. The fish-eye over the date looks authentic, as the phonys are flat or non-existant and the Rolex crystal is saphire. The wind knob should screw in tight to seal it from water entry and when un-screwed will then allow it to be wound up and when pulled all the way out will allow the time to be set.
Again, great find! Hope this info was helpfull!

the watch is very heavy and has a serial number between the lugs with an F which would make it 2003 the knob does screw tight and its also ticking

Hoping its worth getting repaired i think all it needs is a new bezel and a band

PS: The winding stem will have 2 notches when pulled out. The first is to wind it up and the second will allow you to set the time. To seal the stem, push it in then tighten it a couple turns.

The service is expensive! To have mine cleaned and serviced was priced at over $1,000!! Since it still 'ticks', I'll just leave it and wear it once in a while!
