I THINK I JUST DUG A GW BUTTON IN CANADA!

I would love to know the story this button could tell...still hoping it goes on top.

Thanks Brian for you continued interest in the GW Button

Still trying to track the family tree, but running into a couple of snags and will have to make a few calls to folks that have the know how to research a little deeper and I'll let you know if something turns up.

Banner! A dream find of mine!

Thanks coinman

Wishing you the best that you'll get your coil over one of the varieties also sooner that later as it seems that you're digging in the right time frame for one come up, and not to mention your odds are stacked compared to mine.

Been watching this thread since you found the button, and had nothing constructive to add other than "nice find, thanks for sharing"... but as of now, I see you have yet to earn your first "Banner", and I too think it is worthy. After I hit reply, I will submit my vote, and then you shall be put on top... I got crazy pull with the Mods, they'll listen to me.:laughing7:

I guess this just needs one more vote to put it on top........Now who will be the one to vote and put it up there?????
If you haven't voted yet place you vote now and maybe you will be the one.

I believe that even if a person doesn't think that they can add anything to a thread of a find it's great that they can post the congrats and even if a query seems not important it might spark a thought of the more knowledgable.

Gee that would be a cool thought Dave thanks for the continued support.

Wonder why most are found CT?

Don't quote me on this but i think they were made in New York..So the first town north is CT..It still has really rural areas where Cellars can produce them but many have been found at Colonial homes also..But lots have been found at Cellars in CT,RI And Mass..
Thats why i thought this had made it's way through Fort Ticonderoga up your way..Certainly has a story to tell i mean. What are the chances,

A Washington button making it's way to Canada..

Then The Canadian losing that rare button for the area..

Then you finding it!!
It's Divine.

Thanks Blaze for the information, as I'll remember the Fort Ticonderoga.

I asked one of the homesteader family's that have a 1000 acres beside this one today and there was nothing that they could add to the history of the original homesteader. Stopping off to see the local historian tomorrow to if she can shed some light on where to research the family tree. I'm just lining up the ducks to see which of the two days before Xmas I'm spending an 8hr hunt there to see if it's a one of or there is more.

Best of luck on your next 8hr hunt there Jim!
Wouldn't it be sweet if you found another US related button of significance on the same site!

Hopefully we can meet up again after Christmas sometime, no promises that I'll be using the Deus yet though buddy! :laughing7:

Hope you and your family have a great Christmas... doesn't look like it's going to be a white on this year though.

Thanks for the greetings and all the good stuff, best back to you and your's as well Dave.
With temps hitting the mid fifties and sunny it's a gift to be out enjoying the weather and digging something. Hey if you're not going to be using that Deus you can always regift it to me-hint-hint. I'm not too proud to ask for one I'll get the puppy dirty.:)

I hear you about the Deus Jim, I'm still trying to find the time to finish reading the manual and watching the tutorials online. :icon_scratch:
I have to do some emails for work tomorrow, but on Wednesday I'm going to head back to a farm site I detected 3 years.

I'm sure that once you take the time to show your wife all of the hard work you've done around the house, she'll gladly let you buy one! :laughing7:

I thought most GW Buttons were dug in Connecticut because HEAVYMETALNUT lives there..lol...on a serious note still hoping this button goes on top...it is everything a banner should be..it is so intriguing to me ,the journey that this button took to get where it did, when it did.

One thing I've noticed is banner finds seem to go up in groups... so maybe that 4 reale will help it along. :)

Reading the manual isn't the man's way of doing thing Dave. Just fly by the seat of the pants and it works out in the end. :)

I really don't know how to respond to the last line, :laughing7:

I wonder if there has been any mapping of how far NSEW on the buttons that have been recovered?

I've noticed that also.

Has this find made the banner yet? The t-net app doesn't show the banner, which drives me (and many other people) nuts. Hopefully next time there is an update to the app this will be fixed.

So I'm not the only one without the banner on my phone. Glad I'm not alone out here in the, cold bannerless zone.... I'm sorry your here too.

All I can say is if the button isn't banner, I hope you find the most awesome thing there is!
Its BANNER in my book
