Greetings T-Net Nation. I was out poking around in the woods yesterday with my detector ( as I am prone to do), and came across a rather large, rather loud high tone. Given that I was off trail, and in a non-trashy area, I was curious. What's buried out here in the woods? Well , turns out I had come across a buried cache of knives and assorted ninja weapons.

As you can see from the photos, these items had been in the ground for some time, and had been partially wrapped in plastic bags. I lugged it all home, and did some quick cleaning. The overall level of corrosion is pretty bad, but I think I can still make use of some of the knives

So...it's not the kind of cache that one would hope for (I'd much prefer a few mason jars of silver dollars), but still interesting. How did it get there? Why was it buried in the woods? Why did the owner not return to claim his collection? We'll never know the answer to the questions, but that's ok. Still a fun recovery. Thanks for looking and HH!

That's a pretty cool find, IMO. Probably either a stash against TEOTWAWKI, or stolen, or some kid who had a collection his parents didn't approve of. Whoever it was, they either don't know much about groundwater and corrosion, or they didn't intend to leave it there for long.

Very cool recovery.
I see a few items that might not be permitted in our country.
Throwing stars, flick blade might be on the list.

Need to bury, then dip the item in petroleum based wax, wrap in a heavy wax paper and dip again.
Old military surplus was done this way for storage.

Young guy probably was moving out of his parent's home and realised his teenage obsession with bladed weapons was over. Not wanting to throw them in the trash he opted to stash them in the woods. He had no intention of ever returning for them but it made him feel better knowing they were still out there should a zombie apocalypse ever occur.

Love your theory UnderMiner. I'm thinking along the same lines. Seems like a teenager's collection. But...you can never rule out Teenage Mutant Nija Turtles.... They are such rascals!!!
Unbeknownst to most, Shredder actually finally managed to kill all the members of TMNT. In his sadism he cut each one into many pieces which he stashed at various locations. It appears you found where he hid the weapons, keep searching the area, you might find pieces of turtle shells...

Seriously though, this may be one of the better MD finds I've seen or heard about. It's not a hoard of roman coins but not all treasures one finds are old, some are quite modern.
"You'll never find old coins searching that way!" No, I might not but I could find something just as cool if not cooler. Hell ya man! Score!

An epic Mall Ninja collection, complete with teenage mutant ninja turtle sai.
Person had some serious fascinations. I'm a knife person too, but that particular collection seems a bit too focused on killing for my tastes. LOL

GREAT FINDS thanks for sharing with us
