Greetings T-Net Nation. I was out poking around in the woods yesterday with my detector ( as I am prone to do), and came across a rather large, rather loud high tone. Given that I was off trail, and in a non-trashy area, I was curious. What's buried out here in the woods? Well , turns out I had come across a buried cache of knives and assorted ninja weapons.

As you can see from the photos, these items had been in the ground for some time, and had been partially wrapped in plastic bags. I lugged it all home, and did some quick cleaning. The overall level of corrosion is pretty bad, but I think I can still make use of some of the knives

So...it's not the kind of cache that one would hope for (I'd much prefer a few mason jars of silver dollars), but still interesting. How did it get there? Why was it buried in the woods? Why did the owner not return to claim his collection? We'll never know the answer to the questions, but that's ok. Still a fun recovery. Thanks for looking and HH!

He probably was coming back and now he is going to be really surprised !!!

Possibly some kid stole them and was afraid to take them home. Buried them, and got arrested on other charges. Hard to dig them up when confined.

really interesting discovery, you just never know what metal treasure that coil is gonna swing over. thanks for posting.......

I love finding knives, Never found a cache of them! The two larger on the left appear to me WWII era what are the makers?
I don't see a makers name on the knife all the way to the left. The one next to it reads "Ka-Bar, Olean, NY".

Does it also have a "USMC" mark?

You've got some quality steel there...would love to see them cleaned up.

Curious to see how these clean up. Evaporust is pretty good on blades. Oxalic acid works too. Used Evaporust for the buck 119 I found in a creek though it wasn't as corroded as some of these.
