It is definitely a copper culture point. Serrated base spear approx 3,000 to 5,000 years old. Copper was exclusively used during the Middle Archaic stage, however in certain areas it carried on well into and possibly past the Mississipain period.
This is a old form though and I would put it at a few thousand years old. Not uncommon to find more than one copper tool in the area, so search hard. :)

I thought I was mostly jealous of the Europeans getting to dig the ancient stuff... Now I get to be jealous of the hunters in Minnesota! Awesome find, and an amazing relic!!!

Beautiful find. Congratulations.

Very, very cool find! I bet that made your whole week. Congrats.

just curious any one know the possible value it could be worth? Dout I'd sell it I think Ima loan it to a museum so others can see it as well...

I, being from Kentucky, have absolutely no idea, but the first thing I wondered was if it had any connection or could in anyway be tied into the Northsman/Viking culture that is to believed to be in the state? Like I said, just a question no implications implied.

Just came across this post, awesome find!
Hopefully you get a chance to get back to that area and search for some more!

A superb find. It would be worth it to research the history of the area. Then you can go back there with a general idea [and picture in your mind] of what to look for.

Third from the right in the picture from the link, exact match. Amazing, the archaic age in America extends back up to 5000 yrs...what a find.

Yes! Copper Culture serrated base spear point. Almost exclusively used during the Archaic time period, so you're looking at a date of roughly 3,000 to 5,000 BC. Pretty old! I have personally found two of these types of spear points and seen a few more from Wisconsin. Awesome find! Put it in a case and show it off. I would probably not take it to a museum or college, just because you can get quite a bit more info right here. :)

So where was it found??

Amazing once in a lifetime find BTW. Big congrats.

Found something similar yesterday could you look at mine and tell me what you think ?

Wow! That's nice! Congrats!!
