The third time is the charm. I didn't think it was possible to take crappier photos, but your second attempt was worse. The third set clears up all doubts. It is the real deal. No need to get it graded as it will only be worth melt due to the rubbing on the cheek, but a heck of a find that only cost you 1 cent. I would mount it in a bezel and wear it on a chain. Bragging rights for the rest of your days. Sweet find.

Epic find, absolutely epic. By the way you can take a picture with your iPhone and email it to your self then you can just download straight to your desktop. That w hat I do

So anyways how much does that bad boy weigh? What's the gold content.

Wow. Great find from CRH. I found a 1910 2.5 dollar one in February with metal detector. 1st impression was that it was a tarnished dime when it popped out of the ground. Took a while to sink in. Congratulations!

That's the best thing to happen on tnet since Marshall Mathers got into CRH

Really, really nice find! Congrats.

Just came by to say whassup might start Rollin again Later today yo. Maybe I'll get some gold yo.
Peace - eminem

at .121 AGW (ACTUAL GOLD WEIGHT) its about 1/8th of a oz of gold --.125 is 1/8th of a oz --gold $1600 per oz ==1/8th oz is $200 melt value but as a ollectible coin -- that2 1/2 dollar gold piece is worth more than $200 all day long.

in the old days gold's value was "pegged" by the govt at $20 per oz * a eagle was a $10 gold coin (1/2 oz) --a double eagle was a $20 gold coin (1 oz) --a half eagle was a $5 gold coin (*quarter oz) and q quarter eagle was the 2 1/2 dollar coin (1/8th of an oz) - there were also very small gold dollar coins

there were also smaller "private issue gold dollars"

Great find. (But no banner. We don't need more exposure to CRH form people who are already hobbyists in the generic feild.)

I was ecstatic after my uncle gave me an Austrian trade dukat, and then I saw this.

CONGRATS!

Your find is much better because you found it in circulation, unlike my find which was from a collection (my coin is .1107 oz).

Can this thing go banner yet?

Personally, it is a great find obviously, probably the best cent find ever on the forum, but as others said, no exposure to the hobby.
