From what I can gather that night in 1971 was the grand opening. Could this be from that event? Maybe from the "pre" opening celebirty night on the 11th of HRC opening in LONDON.

Found in a field near a "fireworks stand". With an ACE 250. Wifey is getting the hang of it for sure!

It might be interesting to see if any bands might have played at the fireworks stand you found it at. Maybe you can trace it to someone who was invited to that June 11th pre-opening.

Been thinking about that. I am wondering what was on that site before they put a fireworks stand there. The stand is very recent and she found it south and behind the front of it. I think I need to propect that sight some more. Since it was on the Old Route 66 maybe there was something there to attract a passerby.

Mr. Tigrett's email is very interesting. :icon_thumright: Im curious as to why it would be in dollars and cents.

That didn't make sense to me at first either - but now I'm thinking it was all part of the style of the place. They were going for a very American themed diner. I read a period article that described the efforts they made for the opening to make it like something out of the USA. I could see them continuing that trend with dollar signs on the ticket.

I agree with you bramble. I'm glad to her Mr. Tigrett seems to thnik he remembers the piece and is willing to send a COA for it when appropriate. I hope he can dig up some more info. for you (her) Celtex.

By the way, I agree with BigC that the Seminoles may be interested in this piece of Hard Rock history/ memorabilia and they are loaded so you may be able to cash in quite well once authenticated.

My guess is at the London location none of the original employees are still there and they are just guessing.

The last response about the merchandise tag sounds most likely IMO. It also doesnt sound like they are guessing. But I hope I am wrong, and I very well could be wrong lol. There may have been several different Hard Rock items that looked similar.

I'm not exactually sure who you are asking, but I don't use Hotmail. It took close to a week to get a response. I do know that Gmail, Hotmail etc. are known for putting emails from businesses into the spam or trash folders. You might want to check there.

Re: Need help with this interesting find:Hard Rock Cafe Opening Night London?

I tried searching the internet but I cant come up with anything similar. Are there any clues at all on the back? Its an interesting item and I understand Mr. Tigrett is your best bet but who knows, another front pic and a pic of the side and back may help generate more interest and more searches. Who knows, someone may see a clue, a scratch or a wear mark, to its use. :dontknow:

No, I use email from my provider, Charter. I just sent another email with the new pictures and mentioned the merchandise tag idea to see if it rings any bells. I'll let you know if I hear anything back.

Yes I agree the hole is very pristine and sharp. Edges are not overly worn. The only damage seems from being in our very alkaline soils for sometime.
