I looked up Van Wert Ohio ~ their oldest known tag is 1918! OK man. . . . now get out there and dig one earlier than 1918! LOL

This is a new discovery. There is currently no listing for Pineville NC in the book! I will forward this info to Mr. Bone so he can update this in the future printings of his book US DOG LICENSE TAGS.

Hi all, I,m not sure you have an interest in Dog tags from down under. Any way some states in Australia dog tags go back to 1850. Heres a couple from 1923 i found a few years ago

Hello oddcoins. OK. I'll bite, pun intended. I have dug a dozen or so dog tags but the one below is my eldest. This pooch must have been around for a couple of years anyway because it has later date counterstamp on the backside.
