Got A Rock you Want Identified? Post it here! gimme a good picture or 3 or 4!

Hi I live in Southern California and I found this yellow green mineral where the road was cut out between a canyon. I didn’t want to pick it up just in case but I found broken up stuff all falling down that had a smooth center so I thought I would be fine. I figured they are flint but when I was googling the yellow green mineral I came across radioactive minerals. Do you think this could be Carnotite? I touched them before I came across those radioactive minerals on google. Hello, found a small narrow Quartz vein in greenish rock by manitoba Canada boarder. A couple of pieces came loose from the bedrock so I took them home- not pretty rocks but under a magnifying glass there's a lot of interesting material.

just wondering what type of rock it is and if anyone can tell the types of minreals and if this is a good example of gold ore? Thanks a lot!

Found this close to manitoba Canada boarder, I broke it open smells sulfphur like matches. I think it's basalt, does this sort of material contain precious metal ores or other Interesting minerals thanks for any help

Help identify this rock

My granddaughter found this rock and we wonder what kind of a rock or fossil it might be.

BruceBrown and June Haistock.

Lick it and see if you glow greenish-yellow tonight.:laughing7:

On a more serious note, it does kinda look like chalcedony. Not sure on the yellowish stuff; you'd probably need to do hardness and streak test for me to even guess. Or better yet, have someone check it out in person.

...Is the area even known for radioactive minerals? If not, I'd not worry to much.

Can't help more then to recommend an assay or crush and pan. Looks like potential.

Looks good, seems like it has pyrite and then some. Same procedure as previous post; although I'd be more prone for an assay.

Uncertain; seems related to limestone(?). Maybe originated from that. Fossils are not my forte; I'd recommend the fossils section!

What's your thoughts?

I found this in southwest Iowa. It is unusually heavy and I haven't done a streak test yet.
