I found this rock last summer it had brownish Chrystal’s in it just wanted to know what is ?
 

Hello, I found this in southwest Texas 2 years ago and am just about ready to break it to figure out what it is. It's approx 8.5"Ă—6.5"Ă—4.5" high, weighing 17 lbs. It is too dense for sandstone and not granite. Very large agate by chance? The crazy banding made me think of agate and it was found in an area known for agate.20180209_094635.jpg

I had this rock for many years. Stepped on it in the water in Greece. Very heavy.

Here is another. Probably from New York area. Gray hard stone with white veins. The white material in the veins comes off with your finger.

I have some rocks from estate sale, only know the couple traveled all over and have hundreds of rocks.The gentlemen passed away 20 or 30 years ago and even tumbled his own rocks. I have some untumbled rocks. Here's some pics of my first one. It ways 55 gramsIMG_20180209_081049033~2.jpg

This rock was found in Chile near the Laguna Negra Lake
I would love to know what it is!

Break it open. Has a 'sandstone' look to it, or it might be the metamorphic cousin of sandstone called quartzite.

Often referred to as 'desert rose'. A nice one at that!
