That's three gold coins in as many years for me.
It's a hot day today but with a nice breeze that makes it tolerable despitenthe temps and so I headed onto some pasture on a farm just outside an old village here in Lancashire England.
Was only swinging the coil for 10-15 minutes and right out of the blue this little blighter popped up. Could just see the rim sticking out the turf and knew instantly i'd struck gold.
The rest of the session was terrible but I really didnt care to be honest.
Came up a solid 18 on the Nox 800 at onky a few inches deep.
Happy hunting folks, keep swinging those coils as You have to be in it to win it.

Youre welcome to come detecting for free in East Lancashire/west Yorkshire with me anytime you just happen to be passing pal.
I wont wait in though very few Americans venture into these shires. They tend to head toward York sone 40 miles to my east and the lake district to my north.
My neck of the woods isnt exactly the England they like to sell to you folks. Dont get me wrong it has all the right nice little hamlets and villages and is surrounded by so.e beautiful scenery however the towns are formerly industrial and have suffered decades of neglect and also a fair bit of the old "enrichment". Your more likely to come across Junkies and wannabe drill rappers than Hugh Grant in his tweeds.๐Ÿ˜†

Just look at that axe head. Simply amazing what they could produce back then.
So, both of those two relics would be celtic?
(Pardon my abysmal lack of British history.)

Urien of Rheged Are there any places over near you that can rent us quarters to stay and eat in ?

I guess if I'm due any credit here it's for my persistence but im sure there will be guys here who make me look like a part timer in comparison.
Just really good fortune. But what really matters in this game is as I said, you gotta be in it to win it. I could have quite easily sat in garden drinking cold beers this afternoon but instead I sweated in an open field.
I'd been to that field a couple of years ago but it was wet and boggy then. It yielded a few Victorian silvers and so I thought it worth another try despite it being on the trashy side.
Where are you located ?

Both relics pre date "Celts".
The people who made and used them are known to history as "the beaker people".
Little is known about them though geneticists say they brought red and blonde hair to the island. They're known as beaker people because of the distinctive earthenware funeral urns found in the burial mounds they constructed.
A pal of mine was lucky enough to find a once in a lifetime gold armlet (4000 yes old) a couple of years ago....
