I found one of the 50 state quarter slabs at Goodwill that was empty for like 3 bucks. Went out on a hunt with my buddy and found 6 different state quarters that day. So I decided to start filling the slab that night. Went through a bunch of clad I had found over the 2023 season. I'm nearly half way there already. I know I have more clad somewhere around here. Here is my progress so far. Has anyone else attempted this before? I'll update this post as time goes on and I find more of them.

Now that would be neat. However I find so few of them I don't think I'd be able to complete the set.

That's very cool. I typically hunt in parks and some yard permissions. I was able to add 7 more today after finding a bag of clad in my tool box at work. My tool box is a catch all for some of my stuff. I know i have more clad somewhere. Total is at 28 now.

It's funny you mentioned that your trying to find all the State Quarters.

I collect coins but only the ones I find metal detecting.
I greatly prefer old coins over newer ones but I collect all of them - one Indian is better than a pocket full of clad.
I have (24) Harris Folders for the newer coins and (2) big Binder Albums for the Silver, Large Cents, etc.
Only put one of each in the Harris Folders - tumble the rest and take them to a Coinstar machine.
After digging hundreds of State Quarter's I've found all (50) States and (86) of the (100 P&D) State Quarters.
It took (11) years to find (49) of the states and (2) more years to find the only state missing - Oklahoma.
The only reason it took me so long to build this Quarter collection is because I try to avoid newer sites.
The (14) that I'm missing all have Denver mint marks.

Being a collector - I briefly thought about flying out west to Denver to complete the collection but after doing the math - I decided it's probably not worth spending many hundreds of dollars on a trip to try to find $3.50 in Quarters.
